why is it tremendous to extrapolate Tyson outtalking ali from Tyson beating up grannies in a car park? explain that when u have a mo, would be interesting.
how is it tremendous that Tyson beat up a kid for killing his pigeon. Surely if Tyson attempted to beat up ali in the street he'd be sent to jail and automatically lose the chance to fight. that's not tremendous its being a tool.
how is it tremendous to go beat up someone who stole your stuff compared to .... going to the police to report a theft WHEN U DONT KNOW WHO THE THIEF IS SO CANNOT ACTUALLY GO BEAT THEM UP. Did you actually think through your post before you wrote "tremendous post"?
The mental factor -- mind games -- is rarely taken into account in mythical fantasy matchups. YouTube doesn't show you how masterful Ali and Leonard and Duran and others are at psychological warfare. My take is that Tyson was a bully and thus a killer when he faced someone who feared him. Without that going for him (see Douglas and Holyfield fights), not so much. Ali would mindf*** him.
Ruddock wasnt scared of him, tucker wasnt scared of him, green wasnt scared of him, ribalta wasnt scared of him, tillis wasn't scared of him. Sent from my SM-G925W8 using Tapatalk
Great point. When Tyson`s team finally decided to fight Holyfield it was because Evander had been beaten a couple of times {fighting quality} fighters. They believed he was faded and would be quick work for Tyson. He even looked bad against Bobby Czyz. During the pre fight press conferences Holyfield`s confidence was evident. Tyson was intimidated. It was obvious enough that Tyson`s "manager' decided to make up a lie about Holyfield never wanting to fight a convicted ******. IMO it was to fire Mike up and maybe get him past his fear of Holyfield. Anyway the bully act didn`t work. Ali would take the mind games to another level. I`m not sure how well Mike Tyson would have handled Old George Foreman`s pre fight intimidation tactics. Probably not well. He may go into the fight thinking Big George was actually his daddy literally.
I agree. Ali with his taunting, baiting and mocking would have riled up Tyson to no end but I can only see someone like a prime Foreman could have physically intimidated Tyson before the fight began.
Hmmm, I think especially Tucker folded somewhat in their fight. After the first 3 rds, in which he'd done very well, he seemed to go for just lasting the distance rather than winning. I think Ruddock applied negative tactics from the beginning and seemed loathe to open up. For good reason, though, for when he did Tyson put him away. But Tucker I feel could have gone for it more than he did. As for the thread question, I don't if Ali would really intimidate Tyson. He wasn't really the intimidator as such. The chance is rather that he'd make him angry before the fight, perhaps making him lose focus.
Is riling Tyson up really a good thing before and during a fight ie when he actually had his skills from 1985-88? Imagine what an ear bite would do psychologicaly to ali in the long run? Sent from my SM-G925W8 using Tapatalk
Didnt you say you were a Tyson fan? You ding him in every thread, havent heard you say one good thing or favor him in one hypothetical match up
or Thomas, or bruno the first time, carl williams and tyrell biggs. Biggs was even taunting him the first round tony tucker and bonecrusher maybe because they held so much
I am, you want me to be serious when all these nuthuggers are talking rubbish? Holyfield beat him twice fair and square, end of story.
