Would Ali have retired if he managed to win that fight with Berbick?

Lets say Ali somehow managed to win his last fight against Berbick he would have had to fight Mike Weaver next. Do you think he would have taken the fight or retired with honors?

The fight against Berbick never made any sense. Why not do a Leon Spinks trilogy or any winnable fight for that matter

You can't apply logic to the mind set of a warrior.

Yes. A friend of mine attended the fight and believe it or not, told md the general consensus was that Ali won but the judges knew had he gotten the decision, he would've carried on.

Exactly, which he thought was winnable for him. Mercifully, it never happened.

I think Mike Weaver would have not held back like Holmes

Judging from watching the match several times I did not have the impression that Berbick won maybe a draw but no clear decision

That was a reasonable decision then I also think his entourage more or less would have encouraged him to fight on if he had won the fight

He'd have fought Weaver and taken a bad beating.

I thought Berbick won,, what was astonishing was how a brain damaged 39 year old shell went 10 rounds. Maybe that's why I never thought much of Berbick

Yeah I think last time I watched I had Ali up by a point. Their's also a website by the name of eyeonthering, where boxing fans score fights. Incidentally 65% disagreed with the official decision. https://eyeonthering.com/boxing/drama-bahama-muhammad-ali-vs-trevor-berbick I think a lot of people who say Berbick won didn't actually watch the fight, and are just repeating what they heard.

He had parkinson`s when he fouyght Holmes and Berbick he wouldn`t have beaten Spinks or anybody else by that stage, he couldn`t even touch his nose during the medical exam for the Holmes fight.
