You know, Ali was defeated by decision a few times while Lewis was by knock outs, so there are bigger odds that Lewis would outbox Ali than otherwise. Also Ali was too slick to be KO'ed so the best option for Ali to win this one would be to stop Lewis as he stopped Foreman or Frazier .... do you think Ali could KO Lewis?
I think Lennox Lewis and Larry Holmes would both be tough fights even for pre-exhile Ali. I'd fvor Ali to win, but not by KO, and not easy
Not close to enough power to get Lewis' respect. Lewis could walk through him, or he could pick him off at range. Lewis wins any way he wants
sorry dude, I dont see Ali that beat Foreman, Ken Norton or Fraizer would lose to someone who got beaten by bum twice while being a world champion... that wont happen. What's Lewis best victory? a close but UD decision over Holyfield and beating Tyson of 2001 ?! Lucky decision against Mercer? 12 round decision against Tua? what a joke Even in rematch against Mccall, it was Mccall drugs that gave him the victory
i was watching lewis in his 'prime' the other day and i while i dont think he would be stopped there's just no way he could match ali for speed and ring craft. and ali's got a solid chin to boot so lewis wouldnt be able to stop him easily either. ali ko'd foreman and went 15x3 (ish) with frazier
What's that got to do with anything?... I'm not comparing resumes. But head to head Lewis is a nightmare for any Heavyweight. He has KO power in both hands, and great jab/1-2, a decent boxing brain and is excellent at fighting to his advantages. In a series with the 70's Ali, Lewis wins at least one in my opinion.
Ali never fought anyone like Lewis, he would never stop him, might squeak a MD but no way he stops him, ever.
in a bigger ring i'd favour lewis utilising his jab, but in a smaller ring i'd favour ali, getting inside the jab and infighting lewis. ali would not knockout lewis.
