Ali would not ko Lewis imo and it would be a great fight which i think Ali wins 7/10 times!! Your talking about how lewis got sparked twice, what about Ali getting sparked by practically a LHW in Henry Cooper, okay he got up but he was saved by the bell and was all over the place and the ref would of stopped it had he continued his count in todays rules, even Dundee thought **** me and split Ali's gloves to cheat. Conclusion: It happens to the best!!!! an ALI and Lewis are two of the best!!!
Ali gets battered by all Lennox Lewises except for the McCall 1 Lewis and Rahman 1 Lewis, and maybe V. Klitschko Lewis, he would have a shot against Mercer Lewis as well but probably still come up short.
Ali definately wouldn't be KO'ing Lewis...not if Joe Bugner and Leon Spinks are staying the distance as did LOADS of others.
you absolutely mentally ******ed... we are talking about a peak ali 64-67. prime ali would destroy bugne rand wepner and later he would **** in their faces. ali was past prime and a shot when he faced these guys.(and he was retired during 3 years)
People who bring Foreman into this discussion always give me a good laugh, you really do. Ali didn't ko Foreman, Foreman ko'd Foreman. Winging away with huge hayemakers in 100 degree heat whilst eating shots constantly has to be one of the most inept naive tactics I've ever seen by an ATG in the ring, you think Steward would use those tactics with Lewis? To summarise you can never use Foreman - Ali as an indication of how Lewis - Ali or for that matter Ali vs anyone because nobody would be as stupid as Foreman that night. Anyways, Ali wins 6/4 or 7/3 fights with not only Lewis but any HW in history, just too damn fast, and I'd be extremely surprised if either ko'd the other one.
I would say yeah. He was a very accurate puncher, and had respectable power. He had very durable men stunned, including Bonavena, Frazier, Foreman, Quarry, and Liston. I don't know if Lewis is as durable as the men I listed. i don't think Ali would do it early, but he would probably TKO Lewis late, with Lewis out on his feet.
What's your point? that he was extremely tired? Ali could wear down Lewis too, maybe not with the same tactic, but he would definitely wear him down and probably stop him. Ali 66' would beat Lewis hands down. Maybe not by TKO but by a lopesided decision.
Yeah because he certainly had no struggles against an even smaller man than Ali in a 37 year old Holyfield Ali is so much faster. In fact I'd go as far to say Ali has more a chance to win by stoppage than Lewis. He stopped three guys who are top ten all time for a reason.
