The public obviously wants to see this fight, but it seems as though the biggest roadblock right now is the disparity in weight. Alvarez fight night weight against Trout was in the 170's, that's a 20+ pound weight advantage, we he be so eager to fight Mayweather without that advantage, and if so, why does he not call out guys like Ward, Chavez, Lara, Froch, Martinez or Hopkins. When Alvarez starts fight opponents who have a 20+ pound weight advantage over him, then maybe it will be justified (at least in my mind) for him to call out smaller opponents. Having said that, I still think Mayweather beats him anyway at 154 or south of it.
@SJS19 Won't argue the money, because you're probably right about that part of it. But if you take the money out of the equation, Maywaether would be one of those guys you avoid, much like Mosley did, because he's very hard to look good against.
Well Canelo acually seems like a guy who wants to face the best out there. I didn't think he'd fight Trout and acually win over the guy. So I'd say yes to this young champion.
Alvarez maybe would call him out but if he was 147 fighter he would not win more than 2 rounds, his advantage is his size and power in every other department Floyd is light years ahead of him!!!
theres a reason why all money may haters have a pattern of mentioning opponents way bigger than floyd. Margo, williams, canelo, all of them couldn't handle a man their own size:deal
@MarioBrothers I actually agree with that. I believe Mayweather's skill level is that much higher than most if not everyone in boxing, that the only advantage an opponent could possess is strength and size. I do think many people that are calling for him to fight guys who are naturally (and maybe some un-naturally) bigger than him is because they want to see him lose.
Enough with this nonsense. Floyd has been fighting smaller guys the last few years himself. Marquez, Ortiz, Hatton, Guerrero (2 fights at welter). All guys moving up to fight him. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Stop defending Floyd's cherry picking ways, he's a grown man. If he's going to pick on smaller guys and claim he's P4P the best he shouldn't be surprised when someone else tries to do the same to him.
Yeah I think he would. Despite being steered away from danger by GBP until Trout, I actually think Canelo has the balls to test himself like that and he would be getting paid too.
