Was thinking thre same thing. Paulie may not be a powerful puncher but he can box for 12 rounds and win or sneak a right hand in there late in the fight to drop Khan.

It's big enough to be an advantage for Khan. I'm not British either in case you're going to that route.

There's a lot of hype on Malignaggi right now after beating a blown up LW (who is probably a blown up feathweight in all actuality). This erases the fact that he looked like **** against Hatton, N'Dou and Herman N'dmojojojo. He's not powerful enough to hurt Khan nor is he active enough to take 12 rounds strong from Khan.

    I'm going with a 8-4, 9-3, 5-7 SD win for Khan.

I really like Paulie , he's a fighters fighter , behind the false tan good looks and hair extensions the guy is a stand up fighter he fights the best fighters available .

But i think Khan is gonna shut him out or stop him either way i really dont like Paulie in this fight , as to the answer to your question i think stylistically this makes a bad watch .

Pauli has a rock solid chin i don't see Khan knocking him out

Having said that Khan probably wins this if he can keep up his superior workrate through the final rounds

Khan and Malinaggi are both fast guys, with the difference being Khan has some pop in his punches, while Paulie has absolutely none.

Paulie's movement is better and more fluid, (Khan's foot movement is more predictable, mostly going straight in and out while Paulie is a side to side lateral mover, also Malinaggi's upper body to much more mobile than Khan's, who holds it stiff) and his ring IQ is higher than Khan's, as he just seems to get what to do inside the ring better and grasp it quicker than Khan.

However, I don't think Paulie can dance and shoot the jab or right hand to victory like he did against Diaz. Khan is too fast for him to stay away, and with Paulie's lack of power I highly doubt he can do anything to discourage Khan.

Malinaggi is a cagey guy and can't be entirely counted out, but he should be a big underdog. Paulie's best chance is always going to be against slower guys with lesser footwork, guys who are quick enough to keep up with him are always going to be major trouble for him.

This fight against Paulie will make Khan look great. I am almost certain he will dominate the fight and either get a late stoppage or a wide UD. Khan's boxing skills are fantastic. I find it strange how people cannot acknowledge this. Hate makes you blind I suppose. I wouldn't be surprised if Khan will be touted for p2p greatness after he impresses against Malignaggi. It will be bull**** hype though as he will be knocked out as soon as he faces a good fighter who can bang.

He will look great against Paulie. He's faster, better combinations, better skills and he doesnt have to worry about power. I wouldnt be surprised if he TKO's Mallignagi from accumulation, if he lets his hands go without worry about getting KO'd.

    Khan WIDE UD.

Khan will drop the early rounds to paulie....the key in this fight will be is if khan can adjust about round 4-5 to paulie's style....I think he can because roach will be there....

I say at the moment Khan SD/MD.....If Paulie is controling this fight, with his ring generalship, and that is the key in watching paulie, if he is controling the ring much of the fight, then he is probably winning.....

However, it should be noted that in co-promotion in paulie's hometown of new york....if it's a 6-6 or 7-5 type fight, I don't think Khan walks out of NYC with his belt...

    Good post.

Regardless of hometown, I'd be surprised if Khan doesn't get a close decision if it were to come to that. Khan is the golden child, Paulie is and has always been the "other guy" type fighter. But, you never know.

Well, so far Khan has fought largely with a home crowd which has helped him. For example, in Round 9 of that fight with Kotelnik you posted, you might get the impression from the cheering and biased commentary Khan dominated the round. But if you actually look, almost every punch Khan threw was blocked or hit the gloves. It's Kotelnik who lands more clean punches that round and he also had the better defence. There's a good case to give the round to Kotelnik in my opinion, but the crowd noises and commentary give you the impression Khan dominated the round.

If Khan fights in America, he may not get those sorts of rounds scored in his favour. Malignaggi could be a tough fight for him.
