    Poorly imo.
But I don't really rate him tbh.
He's just not got the x factor, to enable a win over Ali of the day.
He may get to the end but lose decisively.

If he had Jerry Quarry’s mindset and meanness he’d be a force ay? Always felt that way.

If Quarry was the size of Tyson Fury I wonder if he’d lose?

Ali kind of sleptwalk through the Lyle fight and was going through the motions. It seemed Ali could've turned it up at any point and when he finally did Lyle had no answers.

I think Ali would probably see Joshua as a bit more of a threat due to his size advantage.

It would depend on how many rounds if it's 15 rounds ? I don't think Joshua would last.

I mean if he could’ve ended it early I think he would’ve for my 0.2$ being hit in the face by Ron Lyle a bunch of times probably wasn’t on his bucket list or anybody’s. Ali was a pro, took his time and looked for openings.

The fight was quite dull Ali did virtually nothing for 10 rounds and Lyle wasn't exactly a ball of fire himself.

If Ali was facing Joshua I think he would prepare and fight differently and see the fight as more of a threat due to the size difference.

The Lyle who fought Ali took a drastically different approach from the guy who had wild slugfests with Shavers, Foreman, Ledoux, etc. Lyle took a more measured pace actually using his decent jab, keeping his guard up, punching carefully with decent timing. He didn't blow his load and wasn't getting sucked into any rope a dopes or counters.

Could Joshua replicate that and remain composed until the final bell? Hypothetically, yes. He had the skills and the ability as seen when he remained disciplined in Ruiz 2 avoiding getting suckered into a brawl, or the Usyk fights where he became more of a boxer puncher. But the question is would Joshua remain poised like Lyle, and does he hold up under pressure when Ali lands that sizzling right to the jaw...? That's asking a lot of Joshua.

Joshua wasn't as tough as Lyle, so it's a big question if he remains upright let alone surviving the round and then coasting to his points win. Idk if he can do it. Joshua is no defensive wizard and lacks head movement too, so for people thinking he can avoid Ali's right hands, you must have A LOT of confidence in Joshua!

I think he was a vastly bigger puncher than Ali though. If Ali is to stop Joshua it would likely come from accumulation/a lot of punches.

The 15 rounds troubles me some from Anthony Joshua's perspective, but, yes, I think he might do better than Ron Lyle against that version of Muhammad Ali. Joshua's style could trouble Ali more than Lyle's style, in my opinion.

This 100%. There is a video out there where in a pre fight interview Lyle said he was going to box Ali and not slug it out like with Foreman.

And hell- yes Lyle was tougher than AJ both mentally and physically.

Ali by wide decision unless the body builder collapses in the 14th or 15th round.

I don’t know. Buy 1975 Muhammad Ali was noticeably slower and less busy. That doesn’t in any way mean that Joshua was leagues better than Lyle but I can’t see him doing any worse
