Would anybody even be interested in Trinidad Vs De La Hoya 2 at this point?

I have heard rumors ( nothing but rumors) that this fight may come off and that the two camps are closer to a fight than ever before since the 99 encounter. But at this point I am not even sure that the fight would be all that entertaining yet alone meaningful, anyway if it does come off it will be in the long line of aging warriors past it trying to stage one last great show like Hearns Vs Leonard 2, Ali Vs Frazier 3, Trinidad Vs Jones etc, etc

i'm not. trinidad showed against roy jones that he's totally shot, and DLH is fading as well. i'd rather see DLH fight the winner of cotto-margo and trinidad should stay retired.

I'd watch it, but it's not exactly high on my list.

I don't expect it to happen anyway.

what weight would they even fight at anyway? pavlik had shown interest in fighting trinidad, but trinidad would only fight him at 170, and there's no way DLH will fight him at that weight. but, like you, i don't think this fight willl happen.

Sure -- and it is the MOST logical fight for them.

Will watch it, not an extremely important fight at this point but will still tune in.

Better that than reruns of the Cosby Show.

Not at all, Trinidad should retire.
A win over Trinidad means nothing at this point.

Neither fighter is in a position where they want to accomplish anything right now, they did more than enough in their best days. DLH made it clear he wants his last fight to be a big event whether competitive or not and both fighters are shot so whoever wins will get some good credit. The real worthless fight is Calzaghe vs Jones.

Probably won't happen because Oscar won't be good above jr. middleweight and Trinidad was at light heavyweight. So for that practical reason, it won't happen (i.e. what reasonable catch weight can these two fight at?)

It'd be interesting. But this fight should have happened a long long time ago.

I think it's a little too late now. It should've happened years ago at 154.
