not sure how he could possibly find a reason to do this ... i wonder if the mexican fans will turn on chavez now... i mean i frankly watched this fight thinking "he must have known he was going to loose.. he looks like he has allready given up and its only the 4th round.."

Only if he doesn't have to fight a softy for the 'vacant' belt. :D

Seriously though, don't think even the WBC would pull crap like that (twice).

More likely they strip Ward of his WBC 168 belt, as he also has the WBA belt which the WBC won't allow, Chavez moves up to 168 and fights a can for the vacant title.

with the WBC, I wouldn't be surprised if they took away Vitali's belt for 'thumbing' Charr and gave it to Arreola

I can guarantee you Suleiman was looking for ways to strip Martinez as soon as the fight was over.

  8. The WBC are the most disgraceful of all the organisations. Martinez won't hold the belt long. He will become Emeritus champ, and be given the bronze rubee-studded Intercontinental Masters Belt.

The moment Sulaiman heard Martinez hurt his knees, he probably stripped him of the title and sent his stepsons to vandalize the Sexy Mansion once again. But we shouldn't be too critical of the WBC, the last time we were, forum members started to disappear.

I never thought of this, but you are right. Jr. could easily say 160 is too hard to make and his godfather would arrange for him to be champ at 168 right away.

They will end up stripping Martinez because he does not fight some guy who nobody has ever heard of and chooses Chavez Jr. rematch instead.

Then Chavez Jr. and Martinez won't get made, and Chavez Jr. will fight the mandatory and get the belt back.
