That’s a bridge too far but IMO he’s not touching the real elite of the division.

People are all over him because he’s recent and fresh and has a big punch. IMO he will be an afterthought in 50 years, Liston won’t.

Like I said, he would defecate himself to see Sonny Liston standing in front of him. Wilder is a faux badass. Liston was the Real McCoy.

Liston being used to being the stronger puncher over his opponents could possibly walk into a huge right hand when facing the long and tall Wilder. However short of that one scenario, the superior boxer and good punching Liston would dismantle Wilder with his offensive punch variety and knock him out inside 4 rounds.

    What odds am I getting?

With the right punch Wilder could disintegrate a lot of boxers.

How do you explain Sonny Banks knocking down Muhammad Ali ? Ali had one of the
greatest chins in history. These flash knockdowns do occur you know.Liston,in
his prime, withstood the hardest punches from Cleveland Williams and Nino Valdes.
These 2 guys could really crack.Liston had a great chin.
So Berlanga managed to boil down to 167.5 lbs.Do you honestly think Floyd Patterson
could get that low at a fighting weight ? I presume Floyd is the guy you're referring to
    re 191 lbs.
I was perfectly entitled to refer to compare Ali's and Liston's fights with Floyd Patterson
as you compared their fights with Chuck Wepner.

Liston beat better quality of men, whereas Wilder is more proven against modern sized heavies.

He missed lots of people. It's a travesty that Wilder and AJ never fought

Ali proved he had a great chin later on, Liston did not.
Williams had Liston reeling and leaking from the nose in the first round.
He could if he killed himself to make weight like most SMWs do.
    Frankie Daniels.
Yeah, because you tried to make it seem as if Liston hurting Wepner was a big deal when Ali did the same and knocked the guy down as well.

Liston did prove he had a great chin. Why are you denying this ? So Williams had Liston reeling ? So what ?
The fact that Sonny didn't go down after being hit by one of the hardest punchers in history proves he had
    a great chin.
As for Floyd boiling down to 167.5 lbs ? An already,fight-fit peak Patterson would have to lose more than 20 lbs
to equal Berlanga's weight.Patterson would have looked absolutely anorexic at the weigh-in.
'' Ali did the same '' re Chuck Wepner. Are you kidding ? Wepner needed far less stitches after fighting Ali than
he did after fighting Liston .72 stitches required for Wepner's cuts after Liston fight,23 stitches required by
Wepner after he fought Ali, plus a broken cheekbone and nose mainly attibuted to Liston's jab.
Liston stopped Wepner after 9 rounds whereas Chuck lasted until the 15th round against Ali.All this
achieved by Sonny when he was way past his prime.

Jesus Christ Williams wasn't "one of the hardest punchers in history", you could name at least 20 guys that punch harder than he does.
He looked in-shape, not anorexic. Berlanga looked anorexic at the weigh-in but quite in-shape in the match itself.
    [/QUOTE]
Is ANY of this supposed to be impressive? The fact that he dished out all that damage and still couldn't knock Chuck out is embarrassing on Liston's part. Ali actually KO'd Wepner by having him down for the count. Liston gave him all he had and Wepner was still on his feet swinging back.

Really desperate lol Williams can punch hard but wasn’t very good so Liston won… you can’t erase that SL got beat up easily 2x by Ali whilst being hurt numerous times and then quit because he couldn’t hang so you’re clinging to the fact an 8-0 Liston survived a LHW who broke his jaw as some sort of pro? - a lot of the “pros” you are listing for Liston are not the impressive feats you seem to think they are.

If you don’t think Patterson who weighed vs Ingo the first time around 182lbs and then onwards about or just under190lbs… couldn’t make 168lbs you fundamentally don’t understand weight cutting.
