Would anyone rather have seen Toney in there instead of Sosonowski?

No, Toney has nothing better to offer at this point of his career. Sosnowski was in his prime, fighting very well at European level. It was a better fight having in mind it took place in Europe.

Why would anyone want to see that fat slob James Toney in the ring?
There's absolutely no reason to reward laziness. Sosnowski at least gave it his all, and came into the ring in TOP SHAPE. Something James Toney has failed to do on several occasions.

    Or he should consider sumo...
He still can become the undisputed Ozeki of the world (or Japan since the rest of the world have not adopted it yet) :D

That's just name recognition. People are familiar with the name and the colorful personality and they just gravitate towards it, while forgetting Toney's work in the ring for the past 5 years or so. Reality is Toney has been off the boxing radar for a long time. I would give him 50/50 against Sosnowski today and imo Vitali would KO Toney sooner due to his lesser mobility.

Do you know anything about boxing? Why does it mean that because he has a ripped physique that he is in TOP SHAPE? There are hundreds of people who are ripped but have rubbish fitness. Toney, even at this point in his career, has better ring stamina than Sos despite how bad his body looks because he is a natural fighter and trains to fight. He doesn't train to get his body ripped.

Really? Toney? If people found the Sosnowski fight boring, Imagine a slow plodding 41 yo, overweight Toney taking jabs and rights for 12 long rounds. :-(
Imagine the press conference with subtitles when Toney speaks... Nope, Sosnowski wasn't in Vitali's class (we all knew that) and I really don't want to see Toney in there with him.

I hate it when former greats are making fools out of themselves. I was a fan of Toney, Jones and Holy... Look what has become of them, it's sad to see!

I get that Toney WAS a great fighter, but that's not an excuse to come into the ring out of shape. Toney used to be in great shape, now he's out of shape. Simple as that. He's fat and lazy...no excuses about "he doesn't train to get his body ripped", that's obvious. :rofl

I'd much rather give someone such as Sosnowski a chance, because he shows he wants it. James Toney and his fat gut always hanging out over his shorts shows that he has absolutely zero motivation to me.

I think you really must hate Toney! Why else would you want to see him get hurt and humiliated? :huh

Come to think of it :think That would have been more entertaining :good
Yeah....I would rather have seen Toney in there  :bbb:smoke
