I don't think there would have been any interest in a guy so limited

He would have been talked about because he's actually willing to go to war, and has pretty good power. He's a lazy bum though so he would have lost, but again...He'd have been talked about cuz his willingness to FIGHT.

No because there was actually quality american HW's in the 80s (Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson to name a few)

He's a brawler, cool but he would of been taken to school and/or put to sleep by even the Pinklon Thomas, and Bonecrusher Smiths of the 80s.

No doubt there, but he'd have been a punching bag for those guys! It's like Micky Ward, and Arturro Gatti. Neither had great skills, but were loved by fans because there willingness to FIGHT. Gatti got shattered by mayweather in 3, but yet...The fans still love him.
I haven't really seen enough of Arreola, but I'm betting that's what he'll be known for. A brawler who'll be in some wars against decent opposition, but yet...Gets crushed by highly skilled fighters.
AGAIN THOUGH, he'll still get recognition..Just not the recognition of being an elite fighter.

I think he'd have had roughly the same type interest that Alex Garcia was getting back when he was fighting on USA Tuesday night fights. That's kinda how I view him...

This would have been the conversation in the 80's

"Hey - did you see that Mexican that Tyson punced the titties off on Saturday night? Hi titties are still wobbling from that hook!"

He would be a TV fighter in any era. But today he is discussed as a top level contender, which is outragous. I love this guy, but if boxing were still a mainsteam sport he would be a regular, well known, and talked about attraction on FNF.

Actually, he would have fit right in with the pre-Tyson "Lost Generation" crowd - fat, out of shape, and mediocre.:yep

In the second half of the 80s he would have been cannon-fodder for Tyson.
