Fury would be Usyk's best win. Usyk would be Fury's 2nd or 3rd best win. I'd rate a 39 year old Wlad as a more proven heavyweight champ and a better win than a 36 year old Usyk. Wilder is more up for debate.
They would both be the other's best win. And neither of them as long as they continue will ever get a bigger win than the other.
Usyk will be by far the most skilled fighter Fury has fought thus far, Fury would probably be Usyk`s best win because of his size and the fact that Usyk has never beaten any fighter ranked in the top 10 P4P rankings by the ring magazine.
Yeah they pulled some shenanigans to ensure the gravy train kept rolling in that one too. And he was saved by the bell from a certain KO defeat against Harold Sconiers, a fight which mysteriously vanished from existence. I wouldn't be surprised if the bell rung earlier.
"an extra minute to recover" You mean an extra 20 seconds. You can't even remember which round it was, go back and watch it. If you want to see a fighter getting an additional 60 seconds to recover with dirty tactics go watch Cunningham after round 5 against Fury.
One could make an argument that a win over Joshua would be more popular than a win over Usyk, at least here in Britain, purely for the amount of hype and money involved in that fight. For legacy though you're right, doesn't get bigger than undefeated, undisputed for either man.
"an ancient Wlad (who AJ beat in better fashion)" Fury's Wlad was 39, active, an 11 year unbeaten champion, A-side, in Germany, and 4/1 underdog Fury beat him 8-4/9-3 officially while hardly being touched Joshua's Wlad was 41, 17 months inactive, dethroned, winless in 2 years, KO-less in 2.5 years, B-side, fighting in Britain, in his final fight and 2/5 favourite Joshua went life and death, lost half of the rounds and was dropped heavily, with a questionable A-side stoppage at the end of the 11th Puritty, Sanders and Brewster also stopped Wlad (all earlier than Joshua) but in 69 fights, only Fury outpointed the master pointfighter over 12 rounds. "Usyk's heavy resume is almost equal" Another bizarre statement. Fury's 200+ lbs pro record: Tier 1: Wlad, Wilder x3 Tier 2: Chisora x2, Cunningham, Wallin, Whyte Usyk's 200+ lbs pro record: Tier 1: Joshua x2 Tier 2: Chisora Usyk's record is inferior even if you add Briedis (tier 1), Hunter and Gassiev (tier 2's).
I was at Fury vs Wlad, Fury won 9 or 10 rounds and was never in any real danger, this when Wladimir was champion. How did AJ do better when he was dropped and lost 6 or 7 rounds after he was coming off an 18 month lay off?
Well...probably because one was fight of the year, the other stinker of the century. But in all seriousness, I also think Fury's was a better achievement (and I actually enjoy rewatching the fight too), but what happened after definitely took some of the shine off, unfortunately. In response to the thread, though. I'm going with Usyk being Fury's biggest win. Klitschko was the old lion. It was inevitable. Here we have two undefeated champions, both still in their prime, battling for undisputed.
Fury was a massive under dog in the Klitschko fight though in hind sight inevitable maybe but not at the time.
Fury would be Usyk's best win by far. Would Usyk be Fury's? I'm not sure. For me the jury is still out on usyk as a heavyweight, and I say that because I really don't rate AJ since the Ruiz loss. I'd need to see Usyk bounce back from a loss to fury and perform really well vs some other top 10 heavyweights, the likes of Hrgovic, Joyce etc. If he did that, then yeah he'd be Fury's best win.
It'd be Usyk's by a street. With Fury it's very debatable. It'd depend to some extent of the manner of victory.
