Would beating Dubois twice do anything for Usyk's legacy?

First of all Dubois isn’t a sure thing against Parker
If he does face Usyk again I expect he will lose again
For Usyk that would mean another World Title defence, another W in the win column
Perhaps the most significant thing would be that he’d become Undisputed for the 2nd time as a Heavyweight and 3rd time as a Pro

He won every round of the first fight, humbled Dubois, then stopped Dubois. He literally made him bend the knee.

What could a 2nd win possibly do for Usyk? Other than make him 2X undisputed (when nearly everyone unanimously agrees that he's still undisputed regardless)

Yes, It hurts his legacy because it's a waste of time rematch. That slot could better service the fans with a fresh match up that will add a new name to his legacy. Usyk is old he can't be fighting everybody twice.

What if Marciano's 49-0 was all against the same guy? Less impressive right. Boxers need to prove themselves against different fighters. Rematches should be reserved for fights so exciting the fans demand to see it again. Not for guys that got knocked out by a jab from a notoriously weak puncher.

If Dubois wants the rematch so bad; have him drop the (paper) IBF title, work his way up to get ranked, and fight himself into a mandatory slot. (and even then If I was Usyk I'd tell him back of the line)

Usyk humiliated Dubois in their meeting; thoroughly outboxing him and stopping him with a jab. The lowblow "controversy" is completely manufactured and is an irrelevance. The first fight was conclusive as you like and there is no need for a rematch; fisheyes and Dubois will push for it in the hope that Usyk has declined enough with age that Dubois has a chance, however even though Usyk is getting on a bit he still has enough to repeat his humiliation of Dubois.

Dubois still has to beat Parker which I think he will do it would leave him as the best contender and he has a belt. The first fight was a wash but I felt Dubois accounted himself well in defeat and has improved since. There isn't another contender with a more obvious path given Dubois stopped Hrgovic and Joshua and if he stops or definitively beats Parker that would be hard to deny a title shot

There are some fighters I would like to see get a crack:

    Kabayel
    Zhang
    Bakole

In a perfect world the 3 above names would fight and Joshua and Fury would fight the up an comers too and it would create a solid, proven and worthy contender.

I also feel at this point in time Usyk would be a clear favorite over the heavyweight field and is old enough and proven enough to retire gracefully from the sport.

I feel you but in fairness, Marciano fought Charles, Walcott, LaStarza, Ted Lowry and Gino Buenvino twice each.

I think if is a lousy rematch too and would much rather see Parker, but it is what it is. Counts as a title defense. But you are right that if it does come off, they will invent some mythical boogeyman like Nino Valdes is to Marciano. "Usyk fought Fury and Dubois twice because he was terrified of Martin Bakole..."

If Dubois beats Parker he certainly deserves another shot at Usyk.
Already Dubois has a brilliant 3-0 streak against very good opposition since losing to Usyk.

Every champion should be obliged to face the most deserving contenders out there. Usyk is no exception.
Usyk got his shot at Joshua by beating cruiserweights ... and Chazz Witherspoon ... and Dereck Chisora.
There are contenders out there waiting right now who have done better than that already, against similar or better heavyweights. Agit Kabayel, for example, defeated Chisora just as well as Usyk did, 3 years before Usyk did it !... and has defeated other ranked heavyweights too, and is still waiting for a shot, and about to face the formidable Zhilei Zhang.

Dubois-Parker, Zhang-Kabayel, possibly Bakole-Ajagba. The winners of those fights definitely deserve shots. Most of them have already done as much or more than Usyk, Fury or Joshua did to get their first shots!
People might not like to hear it but it's true.

I see a lot of comments on the internet hyping up this "Usyk-Fury-Joshua-(&Wilder" era but there have been a lot of good contenders frozen out over the past 2 or 3 years. The resumes of these 'big four' (or three, or two, depending who you want to include) are a lot weaker than they should be, if this was a great era.

Other than another title defense and win on his record? No.

Did beating Fury twice do anything for Usyk's legacy?
Did beating Joshua twice do anything for Usyk's legacy?
There seem to be a lot of comments from a lot of people on this forum that seem to think so.

Unlike Fury and Joshua, Dubois has actually gone out and earned another shot (especially if he beats Parker too).

Much though I hope Parker beats Dubois, partly because I'd like to see Usyk Parker and partly because I enjoy watching Frank Warren fall apart, it's hard to argue against Dubois' post-Usyk HW resumé. Miller, Hrgovic, AJ and Parker in four fights is better than Wilder in his entire career. In fact it comes close to matching AJ and Fury's resumés we're it not for them both having Klitschko.

That said, I'd still rather see him fight Parker or the Kabayel/Zhang winner.

I would be surprised. Has Parker ever beat a busy pressure fighter? He beat Wilder and Zhang but they didn't throw any punches. Seems like he always gets beat up by Dubois types.

As a few others have said i'd much rather see Usyk v the Kabayel/Zhang winner (which i think will likely be Kabayel due to his decent movement and ring IQ).

Usyk was the most deserving contender and has fought the best 3 HWs as champion
