Would beating Dubois twice do anything for Usyk's legacy?

I think Usyk beating Parker after Parker beats Usyk's son would do more for Usyk's legacy.

I think so. Not so much because of the borderline blow that was deemed low, but because Dubois seems to have grown with every fight since then. If he continues his trajectory against Parker it will be clear that he's much improved.

Dubois is just the best of the rest. There aren't too many more challenges out there for Usyk. While legacy is cool, every boxer wants more money. Boxers are prize fighters, not pride fighters. Heck I'd even support Usyk fighting one of the Paul brothers at this point.

I guess it depends whether you think being the best in a weight class allows you to claim to be the logical contender to the weight class above.

I have no idea if Fury is one of the top 3, since he's only beat Chisora (again!) and Ngannou (barely) in the past 2 years. The fact he did well against Usyk (I think he did well anyway) might simply mean Usyk at 37 is slipping too.
Fury is 36 now and it's been years since he faced an opponent younger than himself. Actually it was 2019 against light hitter Wallin, and he struggled badly there too.

Of course. The Dubois that fought Usyk the first time was very inexperienced and his most significant fight up to that point was a stoppage loss at British title level against Joyce. He was also barely able to beat Lerena in his last fight before Usyk.

Now he's on a great win streak and has gained lots of experience by fighting good opponents. He's adding tools to his arsenal and seems mentally tougher. He's transformed into a pressure fighter. Seems fitter and physically stronger than before as well.

The Dubois that fought Usyk and Lerena wouldn't have beaten AJ or even Hrgovic.

It will definitely add to Usyk's legacy if he beats this version of Dubois.

It doesn't depend what I think or not, Usyk did what he needed to do to become a mandatory challenger and AJ wanted the fight.

Fury was the favourite to beat Usyk and had the other belt, there's no debate there.

Of course Usyk is slipping, watch him in his prime against Joyce and Glowacki and Huck.

If Dubois beats JP in convincing style then yes it adds to Usyks legacy should Usyk beat him again. JP has just beaten 2 big punchers although 1 is shot and if Dubois demolished JP then it's a big statement. I've a feeling JP may outpoint Dubois though and then hopefully we will see Usyk v Parker which would put another good name on Usyks resume should he win which I expect he would.

The question would always be whether Dubois had improved a lot, or whether Usyk had declined a lot...

And it'd devalue Usyks first win by giving the impression that it was how green Dubois was that made for such a thoroughly one-sided fight.

Pointless for Usyk, and given Dubois went into it fully intending to cheat, I doubt Usyk feels any sporting requirement to run it back.
