would beating pacquiao make cotto p4p no.1 in your opinion?

good post and fair point; it was a close fight and i can understand a win for clottey, just can't do it myself. I couldn't justify 7 rounds for him

It's very much open to interpretation. I personally don't think I could position Cotto anywhere exactly, although I do think it'd have to be top 4. Reason being, we need an update on Mosley. If the Jan 30 fight goes ahead with Berto and we finally get to see what Mosley is like after his long lay off, then I think any p4p ranking would be a lot more accurate. Lets say Pac loses by UD and then Mosley goes and KO's berto the way he did Margo... Certainly puts Mosley in contention for the number 1 spot.

I hear what your saying. I was upset with the way clottey finished in the last 2 rounds but still had him ahead.

It was interesting that Emanuel steward and i think kellerman were all praises for cotto during the fight, but revealed they had cotto losing the fight.

My hero??? Hahaha, I'm cheering and picking Pac tonight you fool Ellerbe!!

And...I think there are question marks surrounding many of Margarito's wins now. No doubt this fight showed some of cotto's limitations whether Margarito was loading or not, but it shouldn't just be disregarded.

No way does beating Pacquiao make Cotto #1 p4p.

Number 3 tops, and that's if he does in in particulary devastating fashion. Both Pacquiao and mayweather would still be above cotto, even if Cotto wins, probably JMM too.

I don't think KOing berto would put him in contention.

No. It would make Mayweather number 1. Cotto would have to demolish Pac even to jump him in ranking

FACT 1. COTTO POWER COULD NOT HURT MARGARITO.

FACT 2. COTTO FOUGHT ON THE BACK FOOT. MARGO LANDED BODY SHOTS
    ALL NIGHT LONG.

FACT 3. COTTO HARDLY THREW ANY BODY SHOTS IN THE FIGHT. HE WENT
    HEAD HUNTING.

FACT 4. COTTO STAMINA SUCKS JUST LIKE IT DID AGAINST SHANE.

Its not hard to pic pac when he is the favourite.

What's your point Ellerbe?? I'm not massively high on Cotto!! I can't see the relevance of your post!!
