Would beating the winner of Taylor/Froch convince you of Kessler's "greatness"?

Kessler brings exactly $0 to the table and not much of a name. Hopkins isn't going to take a low money fight at this point in his career, especially a somewhat risky fight against a fighter who's career highlight may very well turn out to be losing to Joe Calzaghe.

 

Greatness? Is this a joke? A guy without a significant win beats either Taylor or Froch and becomes a great, ok....

 

Greatness isnt handed to a fighter by a couple of sackswinging fans....Kessler has dont nothing close in the ring to be called a great fighter. OMGatsch

Kessler's resume is weak atm, and his inactivity only hurts him.

It would be more of an afformation of his greatness then the proof. Intelligent people can watch him box and recognize a beast when they see one.

 

And good fighters can fight limited opposition their entire career and look like beasts. The only time he stepped up to fight a true world-class fighter he was soundly defeated. He looks impressive in the ring at times, but who has he faced? If he wants to be great--and there's nothing I'd like to see more than Kessler start fighting and beating the best--then he has to fight more than just weak mandatories.

 

define greatness? without the anyone who can go 12 rds with Joe C without looking too bad theory.
