I think that this is Bowes's fight to lose- the advantages are his. If Witherspoon shows up prepared and ready to fight, it should be a good fight, but Bowe should win.

 

Bowe might find him a little awkward at first. I can see Tim getting pulverized in 4 rounds, though. Bowe in 91 and 92 was just plain too good for him.

I think it's fair to say Vander wasn't Vander in the first Moorer fight but it's also fair to speculate it was ROID related.

You are right to in that he had some hard fights against less than great opposition. Holmes was the same. They struggled with guys someone like Tyson or Foreman would have utterly blown away. In the big picture tho Holyfield could fight much better guys than those he struggled with and perform superbly and Holmes at the least would have been a tough match for Tyson or foreman on paper.

Again like Holmes both were underappreciated for quite a while in their career. They were coming out of the shadow of hugely acclaimed fighters so yes Holyfield was rated below his worth at the time of the Bowe fights.

Per the two grandfathers i think looking back both of those performances can be looked at quite kindly. He beat both handily and it was expectation more than how tough they turned out to be casting a bit of shade on both fights. We know looking back that both old Holmes and old Foreman were tough nights out.

What i was driving at was you gave the distinct impression Holyfield was a lesser challenge due to being/having been a cruiser. Perhaps you were pointing at it from the belief of the exact time and not your current thoughts.
