Id do away with all the miscellaneous champions (regular champions, super champions, ect ect) to clear up the mess and confusion of champions, before Id get rid of weightclasses.

Personally I think 154 and 168 are somewhat necessary divisions. Guys like Fernando Vargas, James Kirkland, Kassim Ouma, ect ect, were too big for 147 but too small for middleweight.

At 168 guys like Ward, Froch and Kessler were too big for middle but would be undersized against a large light heavy.

So no Im ok with some of the divisions.

Get rid of the jr divisions below featherweight and bring in a super heavyweight division above 114kg or so.

everybody knows that more weight classes means more money for the corrupt sanctioning bodies. they are ruining the sport

The short answer is "Yes", get rid of all the "Junior" and "Supers"

The long answer is I'd be more than willing to keep all the weight classes if the trade off was to have ONE champion in every division with same day weigh-ins.

Just go back to exactly what we did in the beginning.

The problem of too many boxing organizations and too many weight classes are both money driven issues that have helped turn boxing into the niche sport it is today. It is unlikely that either situation will change but in a perfect world or a world where I was dictator (same thing :aplastao:) the first thing I would do is lessen the weight classes at the lower weights. Barring vacant belts, their are 44 champions spanning the 42 pounds from strawweight to welterweight. That is truly absurd.

Realizing you just can't get rid of every weight class, I would restructure them and starting at 105 I would have a weight class every seven pounds. That would be 105-112-119-126-133-140 and 147. That would get rid of four weight classes.

Although you can tinker with them, the weight classes above welterweight are pretty good. Obviously, as the heavyweights continue to get bigger a weight class between cruiserweight and heavyweight will become necessary. It is almost necessary now. Other than the rare exception like Usyk there are not a lot of 210 pound types who will beat the quality truly big guys. If I am being honest, those guys could certainly cherry pick weaker heavyweight champs, ala Roy Jones-John Ruiz, but will have a very hard time beating the best heavyweight champ. While I am not a fan of the name bridgerweight the idea is not bad.
