i actually prefer multiple belts... the real fans know who the champion is... if there was only 1 belt, we'd have situations like after dempsey beat firpo he didn't fight for another 3 years i think... which is ridiculous that there was no heavyweight championship fight in such a long time span

    the multiple bets encourage action

Oh yeah! Definitely more exciting if you like guys getting their head knoked off so bad that the local hospital needed to bring the poor thing back to life. Boxing would be on front page because every single week a pro boxer would lose his life inside the ropes due to heavy dehydration, huge physichal differences etc...

Not decided about the number of divisions but 1 belt is a good idea IMO.

UFC? :rofl :patsch This is a boxing forum, I hate hearing that **** (sorry, but isn't there a MMA forum).

Anyway, with 5 divisions, I'd feel real sorry for some great fighters like Ricardo Lopez. Even the little guys like today (Mijares, Donaire) would be fighting guys like Katsidas, Pac, Diaz, Guzman...

    Is that FAIR?

Is that how UFC has it? And you think that's right?

Ricardo Lopez is one of the most technically sound fighter of ALL time, really.

I think the 11 olympic boxing weightclasses would be perfect for professional boxing.

@superheavyweight: Weight disadvantages are "felt" by percentages. A light flyweight fighting at lightweight meets boxers that are 25 % heavier. A 160 lb-middleweight would feel the same fighting against a 200 lb-guy.
