Would Briggs have beaten Haye, if Haye had not ducked him after promising the fight?

Yes. In the end Haye made the right decision. Getting stopped by Bellew is much better than getting knocked cold by Briggs, who is old as dirt, but still has a ton of power left and Haye with his mobility gone would've been a sitting duck.

It’s a good question. Possibly. If he landed clean then yes. But remember Briggs is pretty much a three round fighter now. If Haye’s body held up, I could see him busting Briggs face with the jab and then stopping him.

Would have been utter humiliation for Haye though if they boxed on Dave and Briggs sparked him.

 

When was the last time Briggs actually fought?? Maybe Haye could make a career out of calling out fighters that you know you won't fight like Briggs does??
