Would Buddy Baer Make Today's Top Ten ?

Do you genuinely think that the current crop of heavyweights are objectively good fighters?

 

Do you consider Parker and Joyce and Zhang to be 'natural fighters'?

 

Louis didn't make Baer forget basic footwork, or take away his jab, or make him look like a lumbering oaf.

I bet you'd have a lot more praise for these fighters if they were in black or white.

 

He beat Galento, knocked out Simon and Nathan Mann and decisioned Lee Savold. He also dropped Louis and proceeded to get punched in the head for the next 5 rounds before finally succumbing.

Yeah, he probably would be in the top 10 today.

 

Hell of a lot better than Buddy and more importantly seem to have at least fundamental footwork unlike Buddy, and actually have a jab, also unlike Buddy.

 

“Agenda” this word gets thrown around a lot here it’s a boxing forum for Christ sake. What underlying intentions and motives would people have for saying Buddy Baer the long dead boxer is good or bad?

OK I'll concede that point but my response was directed towards Flash who said Baer wasn't any worse than men like Zhang or Parker which is quite frankly ridiculous imo.

Pretty rich coming from the guy who said of Marciano that he"didn't fall off balance like Frazier did". Perhaps you missed the several times he fell over after throwing a punch?
