Kessler might as a boxer have better skills than Pavlik. But he didnt appear to be able to put a dent in calzaghes mouth. How should Calzaghe box him? Would he survive i he got tagged equally to the kessler match? I know the answer might be that he wouldnt. But what if he did? would he be able to eat it?

I see Pavlik power is getting greatly overrated these days.

Pavlick is an extremely good finisher as well as being powerful, but he doesn't hit hard enough to waste JC with one punch. Kessler is a big punching Super Middle, Pavlick is a very big punching Middle so I would say they would have about the same kind of power.

No. That fight would only go 5 or 6 rounds, so Pavlik wouldn't have time to tag Calzaghe as much as Kessler did, regardless.

    Maybe.

But no way in hell Pavlik tags him as much. He aint as quick, accurate or fluid as Kessler.

I see Pavlik struggling to land big shots most of the fight if he took on Joe.

I can't imagine Pavlik being quick enough to catch Joe with anything but the odd wild shot even as persistant as he is. He'd be off balance most of the fight and find it very difficult to get set.
Moot point anyway, they're unlikely to fight.

Kessler is more powerful than Pavlik, I have no idea why people seem to think otherwise...

well with all the all great chins pavlik has tested like...uh...yeah. ****, wait, pavlik hasn't really fought anyone. he'd need to stand on a stool to kiss julian jackson's ass. sick of hearing about this clown (at least until he does something other than knocking out taylor)

pavlik's more of a straight ahead guy.

calzaghe could beat him both ways i think.

he'd outbox him and be too quick in close for him.

calzaghe can fight at just as hard a pace as pavlik can as well. :bbb

Kessler is bigger, has more power, and most important of all is much faster than Pavilk. Kessler reminded me of Koysta Zoo

IMO Cal only really got "Tagged" about 5 or 6 times and it was mostly in the 4th round. So my answer would be yes, he could handle 5 or 6 of Pav's shots.

Well Miranda was a hype job, very one dimensional and unhealthy. Taylor is an elite fighter, but not on the same level as Eubank, Kessler etc. And Calz has fought loads of good contenders like Lacy, Reid, Mitchell etc. So Pavlik ha not fought the better comp, but at 25, he has loads of time to outstrip Calzaghe

Most of Pavliks opponents have handled 5 or 6 shots from him, its the long sketch that they have to survive. People think that Pavlik is a slow robotic fighter but he has has outworked everyone he has fought.

Can anyone tell me why you think Pavlik is a slow fighter, given that he outworks and wears down his opponent? Where do you get this logic from? Cause he looks slow on TV?
