Would Calz survive being tagged as much against pavlik as he did against kessler?

Easy Jose, Pavlik is absolutely my favorite fighter without question. My stab was more to the point that Kess only really tagged Cal like 5 or 6 times, and not a bunch of ****in times like the thread title would suggest.

Very biased post. You people seem to forget that Calzaghe has a proven, great chin. Calzaghe would beat Pavlik much worse than he beat Kessler, face it. Kessler's and Pavlik's power is probably similair at 168 and Calzaghe had too much speed for Kessler, who has fast hands. Pavlik on the other seems to have lead weights in his hands, and a very leaky defence, with an average chin. Calzaghe is more likely to TKO Pavlik then get knocked out himself if you think logically. He would swarm all over Pavlik and land flurries at will. Either a tko or a landslide points win. Pavlik is very good, but Calzaghe is in a different class right now, and does not look like getting old soon. He is undisputably one of the top 3 or 4 elite pugilists in the game ATM, and would easily beat Pavlik.

You dont know that Miranda was a hype job cause he was demolished by Pavlik. People say he was a hype job to discredit what Pavlik did to him, cause if i recall correctly no one in the MW division wanted anything to do with Miranda and were avoiding him at all costs. Miranda just moved up to 168 and knocked out a good contender, Zuniga another Pavlik victim also moved up and upset another up and comer at 168, so everyone that was a supposed "Hypejob" has gone on to do well, so just cause Pavlik made then look bad, doesnt mean that they were hypejobs as much as Pavlik is that good. You mentioned the good contenders that Calzaghe has fought but so has Pavlik, in the last year alone hes fought Zuniga, McKart, Zertuche, & Miranda, who are all solid competition.

Good post Jose.:good I wonder how long and how many top opponents Pav will have to KO before he can go into a fight not the underdog?

The only guy he would go in as a big underdog against would be joe, most of the other fights he would either be favourite or close (i.e kessler)

Im sorry but i dont see what you saying that would happen to actually happen. First lets get this out the way, Kessler is not Pavlik, So there really is no comparison there. Second, Pavlik has more power than Kessler, that is no speculation this is fact, outta his 31 fight he has 29 KO's and not against tomatoe cans but against elite fighters. Pavlik's defence is only leaky cause he uses his offense as defense, when he has to box, he can box, but he rather throw over 100 per round cause he knows that he will eventually KO a fighter. Third, i think that Pavlik haters (who are usually Calzaghe lovers ive noticed) dont realize that right now, Pavlik has fought the more proven fighters, with the better resumes and yet because Calzaghe is Wales favorite son people think he can easily defeate Pavlik, this point is just ridiculous.

Im sorry but you can't talk about Pavlick haters being Calzaghe lovers when you are a JC hater yourself but bias aside...

Pavlick is a very big puncher at 160 but Kessler is a big puncher at 168 And Pavick has a much higher output than Kessler. Kessler doesn't throw 90 punches a round to knock people out. So I think they would have comparable power. There are no guarantees that Pavlick's power would go up in weight with him also.

I think Pavlick would have success against JC based on his punch output but

Forget Pavlik, not on the same level, Kessler would KO him. He hits straighter, faster and with more power and accuracy and Joe looked stunned but his brain was still working well enough for him to cover up then throw leather.

I can't possibly understand what makes you think Pavlik has a chance to win this fight. :huh

Kessler doesnt have the KO power Pavlik has. Maybe its relatively close to Pavlik's but not equal.

When you are fighting Tomatoecans and one is about to move up in weight then thats when a fighters power is questioned, but Pavlik has KO'd people that had never even tasted the canvas, and Pavlik just blew them away, so you have to give Pavlik the benefit of the doubt that he will take it up with him, i know he would.

Lemme just kill your response with this. Calzaghe threw punches in bunches to throw Kesslers game off, Pavlik would do the same and KO him, cause Pavlik actually has power.
