    definately not the americans would have made a right song and dance about a fighter with half of calzaghes record

    The competition would definitely be different, he would fight (wellknown) Americans, and if he can keep his record like 46-0 then I don't think he would be underrated anymore



    *wellknown because Americans knows (almost) nobody outside their own continent...

    Some will say yes. Some, no. This has been done to death and the arguments remain the same. But if you get to the heart of the matter, which is his general level of opposition. His not being American has nothing to do with it.

    The way I see it, if you have to seriously question or steadfastly defend a fighter's resume and that fighter can boast a. 46-0 with 20 plus defenses and mulitple belts at multiple weight classes, that tells you everything you need to know about that fighter's resume.

    I not sure he would be 46-0 if he were American. Not taking anything from him. He would have been forced to fight a peak Jones/Hopkins/Toney. A lot harder than fighting them in their forties. If he got through that then yes.

    However, I can imagine he would have been huge among the Italian Americans there.
