We never got this fight, and I'm curious about how this match would have gone. Andrade possesses a ton of attributes that would've given Canelo fits , but Canelo is still Canelo. What would have been the outcome?

Andrade got wobbled by jason quigley and ducked Janibek. He was worse than Billy Joe Saunders. Canelo KO

As in Boo-Boo? Nah. Canelo loses to elite boxer-movers. Mayweather, Crawford, Bivol etc. He beats those who aren't quite at that level (Plant, half-retired BJS). He has could-go-either-way matches with guys stuck between those levels (Lara, Trout).

Andrade is no better than Plant, and not as good as Lara or Trout (and nowhere near as good as Mayweather/Crawford/Bivol).

Canelo doesn't excel against movers, but the idea that they're some kind of stylistic poison for him is just silly. He's beat plenty of excellent movers who are a class or two above Andrade and what he brings to the table. Andrade himself wasn't even that much of a mover, his whole thing was being close enough to you to lure you into over-extending and then catching you as you came at him. He wasn't always perfect at it and got dropped a couple times when he failed to avoid the punches he had asked for, like against Martirosyan when he got dropped. Canelo is very good at cutting off the ring and getting into punching range, or at least he was way back when. Canelo would cut Andrade off, feint him into mistiming his counters, and then land his heavy artillery while avoiding the receipt. No doubt in my mind that Canelo would have stopped Andrade had that fight been made when Canelo was tearing through 168.

I laid it out in my post above - you have to be a) a mover and b) elite.

Anybody thinking Andrade is some diamond in the rough elite probably never saw the Culcay or Martirosyan fights. Both hurt him and ran him very close...and Culcay is as average as it gets, in skill & power.

    Andrade was a hype job.

I think Canelo V Andrade would have been similar to the Canelo V Plant fight. Andrade was rather chinny even if technically decent.

Canelo dominates him, you can’t beat Canelo without having both elite skills and strong physicality at once.

Canelo looked tired of boxing in his last 2 fights. He seemed he doesn't want to be there anymore.
