How about Ward against Benn, McClellan, and Watson?

    That was a great essay!:lol::good

I think you have pretty much proven that Eubank was much better off than atberry will admit.. It would seem as well that Joe could have been in better form himself on fight night.

Quite honestly I think the best version of Joe, beats the best version of Eubank clearly.

"no wonder Steve Collins didn't want to fight him"

Chris recently asked Steve in that sit down why he didin't fight Calzaghe.:yep

I think he beats Watson fairly clearly but Watson would give account of himself. Benn obviously has the punchers chance but 9 times out of 10 Ward Schools him and with McClellan I think it depends if Ward could weather the strong early storm, if he could he schools him too.

when Eubank was on it ie the watson and benn fights he was brillant. but too many times he put in average preformances because he was lazy and would always try and do just enough to win.

Don't get me wrong eubank wasn't past it when he fought Joe but he wasn't in his prime either and Joe admits it was his hardest fight.

in summary if eubank had applied himself like he can he would have beaten everyone on Joe's CV

Nothing, but at least he was fighting regularly and not a club fighter only fighting once in 3 years against Ricky Stackhouse like Schommer prior to his title fight.

    Thanks. :good

He'd knock himself spark unconscious on Eubank's granite noggin the instance he tried his billy goat tactics.

He hadn't done anything other than last the distance in a world title fight against IBF champion Sven Ottke. He was a late replacement for Thomas Tate. The Tate fight was supposed to have been a stepping-stone to set up a big clash against Hopkins but then Tate pulled out with a back injury and Pudwill stepped in at two weeks notice. I guess he was the best they could get at short notice. It was either fight him or pull out altogether.

    Thanks.

That post wasn't just directed at atberry to be fair. It was directed at ALL the haters. lol

Yes people conveniently seem to forget that when trying to trash Joe. Just like they conveniently tend to forget he was fighting with a badly damaged hand from the 5th round onwards in the Reid fight, had only done 14 rounds of sparring for it, and was utterly riddled with chronic injuries to his wrist, elbows, and hand throughout that period of his career too, which really affected his training and performances in a couple of fights.

I'm sure atberry agrees with that deep down. lol

That made me laugh too. You can tell Eubank really doesn't like Collins. It was a good documentary, although it should've been an hour longer IMO. Jones came across pretty well, Joe was a little too quiet (he's actually always been a pretty introverted character believe it or not), Eubank was quite entertaining, but Collins came across as a massive dick. He kept butting in and hogging the airtime, a couple of times just when someone had posed an interesting question to one of the other guests, which of course we never got to hear the answer to. Richie Woodhall came across best of all IMO. He's always been extremely likeable and humble. In fact, they all came across as pretty humble with the exception of Collins.

    I agree..

They all seemed pretty cool, I have always thought Collins was a dick. Woodhall seems like a great guy, Roy is still a little sensitive about James Toney, he kind of went off for a second.. Can you imagine If Toney was sitting in?:rofl

I don't think Calzaghe really had to say anything, he beat everyone there with the exception of Collins who didn't want to fight him. I think he felt pretty satisfied. One could pick on how Prime Roy or Eubank were, but we know those arguments, one in which you just did a good number on. Calzaghe had a great career that gets underrated by some, at the end of the day though, I feel he is content.

I have to say, being a Roy fan, I loved the part when Eubank said it would have been suicide.. I know some of that was Chris showing no ego, which he has stated that is how he wanted to be remembered.

All in all, I really enjoyed it.

I suppose I was indifferent to Collins (personality wise that is) up until then. I didn't particularly like or dislike him. I must say I thought the hypnotist shenanigans in the first Eubank fight was a stroke of the finest crafty Irish genius and very amusing though.

Yes, Jones lost it there for a few seconds. lol. My favourite Jones' bit was when Collins said he didn't want to scare him off from fighting him. It's the way Jones laughed incredulously that I found amusing.

I don't know why Collins was being a bit arsey with Woodhall for asking what was a perfectly innocent question. He seemed to take offence to it for some inexplicable reason.

    From the 10:02 mark.

It would've kicked off for sure if Toney was there. lol

He is a lot more relaxed these days, but when he was younger he was, despite how it may have seemed, pretty introverted and shy, especially on camera during interviews, where he'd sometimes appear a little awkward and uncomfortable.

Eubank is a funny one. Despite what he says, he's got an ego the size of a large planet. He's a very strange chap and a bit of a walking contradiction (in a good way though). He can come across a very humble, honest and gracious at times and yet at others you can see arrogance literally almost bursting out of the seems. lol. I like him a lot though. He's a great character and totally unique.

The doc had an anticlimax feel to it; they all pretty much still had a competitive edge ( maybe with the exception of Joe) and weren't quite sure about how the whole thing would/ should go.

Collins twice lied through his teeths (when he claimed "he didn't need the money" and that his career came to a halt because of an obscure injury, instead of admitting to have lost conscience while sparring).

Jones was his usual delusional self, blaming everybody else but himself for his DQ loss to Griffith.

Eubank once more displayed his fake modesty / enormous ego and spent nearly the whole show arguing bitterly with Collins.
