According to Nelson, Graham was down for about 30-60seconds. And yes, Graham did apparently outbox Eubank (according to Eubank himself) apart from the knockdowns (there were TWO knockdowns for Eubank over Graham in one six-round session on the last day of two weeks they sparred), which is hardly surprising considering Eubank had no idea how to fight southpaws at the time, struggled with runners and was a 13-fight novice, and it was Graham's home from home (Wincobank) up in Sheffield.

An interesting note is that Ron Essett was also sparring with Graham for the McCallum fight, but Eubank and Essett never sparred - only spoke. They later fought of course.

And Eubank also sparred with Johnny Nelson at that time, and according to Eubank he 'played with him (Nelson), beat him up'

    :rofl

Man, how butthurt are you that the only man who trully embarassed-dominated Chris in a boxing ring went on to have a stellar career ( much better and longer than Chris) and retired undefeated at 37 ?

It's alright, you can tell us.

You must be ******ed or something? This is utter tripe considering Michael Watson (II), Dan Schommer and Steve Collins (II) all beat Eubank far more clearly, embarassing and dominating him far more resoundingly, than Calzaghe did in his close toe-to-toe 12-round war with him.

Watson won every minute of every round from the 4th onwards against a 100% Chris Eubank - Calzaghe scraped by perhaps a 10% Eubank. No comparison whatsoever.

Steve Collins clearly won 11 out of 12 rounds, winning clearly each round won - Eubank took at least 4-5 against Calzaghe and the rest were competitive. No comparison.

And Dan Schommer, using the same stance as Calzaghe, countered Eubank's ears off without a tiny fracion of wild Calzaghe's workrate, with most observers having Schommer beating him by about seven rounds. No comparison.

Watson and Collins would've beaten Calzaghe, and Joe never fought a southpaw; so who knows how he'd fare with G.Rocchigiani or Schommer.

Tony Thornton and Lindell Holmes would've floored Calzaghe with right hands, seven days a week.

He would of lost to Kessler,Hopkins,Roy Jones, and Omar Sheika and Bryon Mitchell would of given him problems.

Kessler, Sheika and Mitchell wouldn't have given him any problems at all. Charles Brewer would, though.

I know it is a little off topic, but I am amused by the way you break down a fight.. How do you see a fight with Jones Jr and Calzaghe both peak at SMW going?

Jones lands a lot of leaping lead right hands.

Is it enough to win him the fight?

Probably not. Though in an exchange, a hook and/or uppercut of Jones may do the trick.

I enjoyed trolling your ass earlier Berry. And FTR I don't have a problem with you. I actually enjoy reading your posts for the most part, other when you're shitting on Joe all the time. I was just playing you at your own game.

You know god damn well Joe beat a still very formidable Eubank who had plenty left in the tank and was clearly not weight drained. It was a fantastic performance by an extremely inexperienced and green bambino version of Joe. He hadn't even been past eight rounds before (only past five on a couple of occasions) and had never fought anyone remotely close to world class before. That version of Eubank would've beaten lots of top fighters that night.

To Eubank's credit that version of Joe would've knocked or stopped almost all of the fighters he subsequently went on to fight IMO, give or take one or two. He fought with an incredible intensity in that fight and was punching as hard as I've ever seen him. You could hear the power of his punches back then. They were very loud when they landed cleanly (I'm talking strictly about his power shots, not the lighter flurries or ''slaps'')

It's actually an excellent fight and one I would recommend anyone should check out if they haven't seen it yet, or even if they haven't seen it in a while. It's a shame his hands gave out on him because that was the real Joe to me, that and the one who dazzled in the amateurs on route to his second and third ABA titles.

And no, Flute did not knock Eubank out. lol. He did spar him in preparation for the Amaral fight though (sorry Mind Reader I couldn't blow my cover once I'd started lol). What Flute said about sparring Calzaghe was true though, and he used to spar against Nigel Benn too.

Much of what I said about Rocchigiani was steeped in truth though. I do think he was very flat and that it was a close fight if you actually count the clean shots that landed. A lot of Eubank's punches were hitting arms and gloves and the vast majority of his scoring shots were to the body. Very little was able to penetrate Rocky's air-tight guard, whereas he was the one scoring most of the clean shots to the head, albeit he was throwing less than Eubank. I must've watched that fight 20 or so times, this was back before we had the Internet obviously and I only had access to what I'd recorded off of TV. I seemed to remember having a different winner each time, although I can certainly see how many would've seen it for Eubank by virtue of the fact he threw much more though. And to be perfectly honest I'm pretty sure I had it for Eubank more times than the reverse too.

The Amaral fight was close too from what I remember, although I can't recall how I scored it. I think I had Eubank a winner.

The Close fights were very tight affairs too, but again I don't remember how I scored them. I can recall not being impressed by Close's style at the time for some reason though.

You do talk some utter nonsense at times though. lol

Oh yeah, and I made up the bit about Hill getting robbed against Schommer in the amateurs and watching it on a Russian site. lol. And Schommer definitely beat Eubank too.
