--- Two years ago this was the fight to be made, especially after Floyd beat Hatton and Cotto beat Mosley. The Mayweather haters were sure that Cotto would beat Floyd. Their main argument was that Cotto was a machine of systematic slug. Now what do you say?
I brought this topic up. Dont know. Maybe but the pre uppercut Cotto that PAC fought would have troubled Floyd. People need to rewatch this fight even after the 1st KD. Cotto was a beast. His guard was tight. He has a great jab, better than Floyd and he can put Floyd in the ropes. But PAc well.. is PAC one of the handful of truly great fighters in history, no shame
People would say yes pre-pac. Since Pac made it so easy, i doubt people will say he could. I do believe he does better against Floyd.
Agree, Pacquiao is just really a great great fighter the man should be appreciated because fighters like him come up very far in between and he's not planning on fighting a lot more. Cotto too is a very good fighter and rare in the sense that he will face just about anybody and give the fans a good fight.
He'd have a chance if he goes away and chills, gets a new trainer, and works his way back up to the top. But im thinking by the time he does that Floyds enjoying a 2nd retirement...
I respect this from a Boricua...Cotto doesnt get the ****in respect and his loss is not analyzed properly. If you were watching SKy (HBO w/ lampley is too biased for Cotto) Cotto was doing marvelously in the 1st four rds pre uppercut. He hit PAC with a left hook that almost tore Pacs head and gave him the busted ear. Even in the 4th he was winning the round nicely til he got hit by a punch only PAC can connect. That punch had no business landing. Sure he got into a brawl but it was measured, he came back with the jab and boxing everytime. He hit PAC with an uppercut that left the crowd grasping. It was definitely the best 2-4th rds weve seen...and would have remained a FOY candidate if it wasnt for the uppercut. That ended Miguels night right there
Cotto by KO. Floyd ducked Cotto because he knew he was too rough, too tough, too clever, and in his prime. floyd still won't fight Cotto, like he handpicked Judah off the scrap heap.
Cotto actually matches up good with PBF in theory good jab, good body puncher unfortunately for Cotto he fights dumb and abandons his best assets early on in fights. PBF would beat Cotto by wide UD or TKO.
