Would Cotto beating Money be as much of an upset as Leonard beating Hagler at MW?

It's a step below Leonard-Hagler, but it would be a great upset. I see people are discussing the Pong upset; that was an unexpected outcome of much greater surprise, but with much less weight in terms of significance for the sport overall.

Floyd is a 7-1 favorite... Thats nothing! It's not unheard of to see a 7-1 favorite lose... :deal

It would be an upset of gigantic proportions, but not on the level of Sugar beating Hagler.

We're comparing it to Hagler-Leonard, not any other fight in history.

    Hagler was a 3-1 favorite.

It would be more of an upset to me because I feel Cotto is shot. Even though SRL suprised alot of people and fought well, I felt Hagler won the bout.. 115-113 Hagler for me... :think

How does not rating Cotto make someone a "*****"? Wading through dozens of semi ****** Pac spammer posts gets old.

simply question, who was favored in leanord-hagler?

for me, hagler was the stronger boxer, but sugar was much quicker and also had the athletic advantage.

cotto winning vs mayweather might be the biggest upset ever, even bigger than douglas-tyson. why? because cotto is not on the radar of much people, cotto is supposed to be old and way out of his prime and most of all, floyd just seems to be unbeatable in a 12 round fight and cotto is not the known 1 punch ko puncher who can end it all suddenly.

Cotto is a proven veteran of the sport. If he wins it will be an upset but not the biggest of all time. Ortiz beating Mayweather would have been the biggest upset, how people are acting like Cotto is some green horn is beyond me. personally I think this is the most competitive fight Floyd has had in a while.

no one was picking leonard back then.
i think they did a poll of sports writers and boxing writers and out of 30 of them, 1 picked Leonard. People actually feared for Leonards health

leonard a career welter that had only 2 fights at 154 ever. (Kalule and Kevin Howard) Kevin Howard 20-4-1 knocked Leonard down and SRL looked like crap, the retina thing and retired after that. 3 years later..no tune up and now his first fight ever at 160 against HAGLER?
Cotto beating Floyd would rank right up there...but he is an active and current champion
