mayweather would do cotto like he did ricky hatton but on a higher level...since cotto is a way better fighter..

Now margarito I could see that fight being like the castillio fights!

and mayweather does have the power to hurt cotto...

his power is in the amount of clean shots he dishes out.. cotto would get his ass chopped up! and would eventually take a knee!

And cotto gets cut in every fight..against mayweather that ****er would be carved like a turkey on thanksgiving!

    Yes.
Cotto would not have fought Mayweather with the respect he gave Margarito.
It would have been PBF fighting off the backfoot, with the Potshot's.
Cotto would have been the aggressor for the first half of the fight and Turned slick for the second half.

(Floyd's ability to take punishment has never been tested, so one truly can never say if he can last in a H2H match, to be honest)

It's hard to tell as he would have entered the fight completely differently. I do think Marg with the game and the style from the other night had what it takes to beat Floyd.

Its never been tested becuz he is that good...

what makes u think Cotto would test it?

What makes cotto different from every other pressure fighter he has faced..

It would take mayweather deciding to allow himself to take the punishment by slacking on his defense for that to ever be tested....and we all know thats not gonna happen.

I always said that Cotto simply won't be able to beat Mayweather and relying on counter punching won't work too well with Mayweather's speed and accuracy. Cotto would lose by decision in a tough close battle and those bombs he landed on Margarito he won't be able to land PBF, he'll be lucky if he landed a few and if Cotto doesn't throw enough body shots as he didn't against Margarito then this would be even worse for him.

It has been tested but not for an entire fight because he's not too easy to hit. He took some good shots from the bigger DLH who hits quite hard, JLCX2, Hatton, Judah, Corley, Augustus and many others. Some of those guys landed really hard and flush punches which Mayweather handled really well, Corley was able to stun him but he came back instantly as well. Mayweather can take when he has to but he simply won't allow you to keep landing at will the entire night, that's not his style and with Margarito's speed don't expect to see enough punches landed.

It would have been a bludgeoning. Floyd simply way to fast and sharp for Cotto. And believe it, PBF has some pop in his shots. He would have hit Cotto with sharp right hands coming in, all night long. And he would hurt Cotto, ask Ricky Hatton...

No, it would have been a different fight. Cotto would have been the aggresor, while Mayweather fought defensively. Cotto would barely have landed a punch on Mayweather and lost by wide UD.

PBF is really not hard to hit.....he is right there in front of you.

Most fighters make the mistake of trying to hit to score points.
Just hit whatever he gives you...like The Rock used to do.

There is a limit to what PBF can take.....and the truly big punchers will eventually get thru and hurt him.....that is why Cotto's face was all busted up....it was the deflecting punches that did most of the damage.
