Thoughts on this if he were to take Floyd's 0?

Of course it would be bigger.

I don't know what the betting line was offhand, but surely Tito wasn't THAT big an underdog?

Plus, that win was controversial. So unless Cotto wins by close decision because Mayweather got on his bike late and "gave it away", then yes this would absolutely be bigger without any doubt.

Cotto isn't supposed to win, plain and simple.

Agreed. Just wondering though because it seems that Cotto isn't as revered as Tito was by Puerto Ricans (from my view, anyways)

He isn't. They don't love him a tenth as much.

Hell, they love JuanMa more. :-(

Ugh, Tito I can understand as he's actually charismatic and not just cocky, but...

    Be a huge upset. Douglasesque.

It would be interesting to see something like that in fact, a fight Money appears to win on the cards but where Cotto gets the nod. I wonder what the reaction would be like?

It would def be bigger and it would finally break him out of the huge Trinidad shadow. Possibly earning him a top 3 spot among PR's ATG's.

If you actually believe that Tito beat De La Hoya, you certainly are starting off on the wrong foot trying to learn and/or discuss boxing.

This is not about who won, but about the difference in impact should the upset happen. Stop being so bitter, we all know Oscar is only "Mexican" when it comes to the Tito fight.:hi:

How can a Cotto win be a bigger impact when the majority of knowledgeable boxing fans know Tito didn't win? This thread is like pouring water into a foam cup with it's bottom cut out. However, don't let me interrupt this nonsensical
    thread. As you were gents....
