Would Crawford beat everyone Mayweather beat?

no Lara didnt the majority of that man shots were touch range finder jabs playing pitty pay doesn’t win you fights, at points in time Lara completely about faced and ran to the other side of the ring.
He has never fought that way before or since but in that fight Lara felt the only thing he could do is put as much distance between him and Canelo as possible and play tag.

For comparison Mayweather landed a whopping 240 punches on Canelo (A career high) while Lara landed 107. Lara had a chance and was doing well for 3/4 rounds but he gave it away , he took a body shot round 4/5 and decided to play it safe.
Now I will say the 117-110 card was some bs but Lara lost that fight and even guys who scored it for lara that are pros said he ran that fight

If Bud could have made it all the way past Corales, then yes, he has a good chance, especially with A-side advantages.

Bud has faced nothing like Corales or JLC. If he doesn't step up he will be another victim of the belt siloing and protection that stops the best fighting each other. I'd like to see him fight Spence, 3 decent fights at 154, eg Charlo, Castano, Tszyu, then at 160. He is a weight bully so those weights should be a true test of his capabilities.

No, no, no. JMM came up from 135 to 145 (?) and then he didn't even make weight, and paid his penalty.

It’s a ridiculous myth to say that Floyd was heavy handed at super featherweight. Look at 16 fights onwards. Before that mark (and even after it) he is fighting soft touches. Imagine if Lomachenko went the distance with guys like Cuello and Pep? Even the defensive myths about Floyd at that stage - he gets touched regularly. Has anybody who refers to Floyd at 130 actually seen him fight in those weight divisions? There’s a reason why Corrales was the favourite in that fight. Why the revisionist myth to pretend that Floyd was some beast? Floyd gets more impressive to me when he beats guys like Cotto and Canelo later on as a smaller man. Those are Bernard over Pavlik and Tarver type wins. He’s a great fighter sure, but not even close to the discussion for the ‘greatest’. He wasn’t dominant in any weight division and never looked as complete as Crawford has. I’d struggle to put Floyd over Hopkins in ATG rankings, I view them as similar level boxing talents but Hopkins has the bigger achievements.

What’s this complex boxing you’re talking about with Floyd? What do you think he introduced? I always viewed him as a watered down hybrid of Roy and Toney. Nowhere near as good at anything as those guys, but a good balance that usually gave him the edge in fights.

 

I think I'd have to favor him in each bout. Oscar and Cotto are not sure things, especially at 154, but I can't exactly favor them over him. Oscar's approach was effective but basic and Crawford hasn't faced a boxer-puncher quite like Cotto for me to judge.

 

I have to disagree. I think Crawford does leave himself open for the timing of an elite counter-puncher, but his timing is so good he might be able to match Canelo there. Crawford has excellent movement, feints, a quick solid jab, can switch stances...these are the kinds of things that bother Canelo. I think Crawford often likes proving he's tougher than his opponent because of ego, but against Canelo he'd be more careful.

Remember this is a Canelo who just squeaked by Trout and later arguably lost to Lara. He had issues cutting the ring off and wasn't as devastating with his shots, meaning his slow pace cost him rounds on lack of activity.

 

Big fan of Keith but this is way off. At his best Thurman was never as dominant as Crawford and this version got rocked by Josesito Lopez, and Pac still dropped 5-7 rounds to him.

 

Both Pac and Floyd of 2015 were still better than any version of Bud so far.

We have yet to see Bud win a signature fight at 147. We'll know more after (if) he faces Spence.

 

Oscar would be a huge favourite. Floyd barely edged him in that fight, and as I've said earlier, Bud is no Floyd.

Pretty much the same for Cotto. Floyd edged him...Bud gets routed.

Not to mention we have not seen Bud at 154 in any fight.

Canelo stops him. He probably beats Oscar. Pac beats him decisively. Cotto is a close one.

 

I disagree. Crawford isn’t as elusive as Lara once was. Canelo has major problems with straight punches thrown at him. Crawford has good footwork, but he does tend to square up and trade punches, I think that Canelo version was good enough of a counter-puncher to catch Crawford in between shoots.
