This has got to be an uncommon opinion around here. So uncommon I've never seen it despite Tua's popularity.

So if you hold this view, please, feel free to speak up. I want to hear your reasoning if you believe prime David Tua would probably beat a prime Ali.

This is your thread. You have the floor.

No he'd definitely not bulldoze Ali.
He's dangerous thru the fight, after all, Cooper dropped him and Tua hits probably harder. But if anyone can survive the Tuadozer, it's Ali.

Another fun thread, not as creative as many of your gems CT, but sly in setting up anyone idiotic enough to think Ali not only can Ali not outbox Tua, but somehow Tua just walks through Ali because...He has more muscle?!

    I'll bite though.
Sure Tua absolutely & without reservation

The odds of both happening, assuming infinite Ali & Tua fights?
About less than once in the history of the known Universe.

Well in Tua's favour he had one of the best left hooks in the business, and Ali could be a sucker for the left hook. But the issue is Tua has been outboxed by much lesser fighters than Ali. I mean Rahman outboxed him for large periods up until controversial stoppage, Maskaev outboxed him for 10 rounds up until he finally caught him. I think the Maskaev fight is probably a good indicator for the Ali fight, Maskaev used the jab and right hand stayed out of harms way, and had the limited Tua befuddled. The only difference is that Tua wouldn't stop Ali late and Ali would cruise to victory.

Outside of Tua catching Ali with the left hook and dropping him, which could happen. Ali would win a wide points victory, i think people forget Tua could often sleepwalk through fights if he was getting outboxed.

The best version of stick and move Ali is a nightmare for Tua.

Conversely, the further in his career Ali goes, the more hittable he became. There are certainly versions of Ali that Tua would be favoured to beat.

Larry Donald probably would’ve been a nightmare for Tua. Ali probably would’ve been a bigger threat.

No. He gets outboxed for 98% of the fight. His left hook might prove to be a slight danger to Ali but otherwise loses wide

Well, he didn't bulldoze Chris Byrd.

    Tua was never stopped.

    Ali might have changed that.

I’ve actually always wondered about this. Because I think I’ve heard that over 99% of the volume of an atom is just empty space (but I’m not sure if this would apply to dense elements such as lead or not). So wouldn’t it be theoretically possible for all the nuclei to align in a way that two objects pass through each other? I’m sure the odds are astronomically low considering the number of atoms involved, but in theory, it seems like it could happen. And given the size and age of the universe, it very well may have happened.
