well i can think of one single shot that put de la hoya down and it wasnt to the head, i can also think of much bigger punchers who have faced de la hoya who didnt put him down at all, let alone w a single punch. so my answer is no that one punch more than likely would not have put oscar down

I just want to remind you that the topic is about Hoya getting hit by Pac's left hook. ASSUMING he is HIT!

 

I don't like these "would Fighter A have stood up to a punch that Fighter B landed against Fighter C?" threads, to me they don't work or make sense. That punch could only have happened in the particular circumstances of the Hatton fight. It didn't happen in the Oscar fight. You can't superimpose events from one fight onto another fight, it doesn't work.

DLH wasn't even slightly dazed by any of pacquiaos shots. After the fight he said that pacquiao had no power and that what bothered him was just the accumulation of shots. We're talking about a guy that's taken shots from much bigger stronger guys than manny here and never been hurt by a shot to the head.
