I agree, fans judge Henry Cooper by the 6 th round knockout he suffered against Floyd Patterson on Sept 20 1966 in London.
Could go either way ! Cooper could be hurt but had enough power to spark out anyone he hit. I fancy Archie by KO
Moore, easily for me, totally different class. Coop was obliterated in 4 by Floyd, not 6, by the way.
I think if we are talking about the best of Heavyweight Moore, it would be an excellent fight and Cooper from AliI would be very competitive and may even deck Moore, but I think the Ol' Mongoose still finds a way to win, particularly in the USA. What is your take and if you too think Moore wins, when do you think is the first year that you would have actually favoured 'enry over Archie?
I think the version of Archie that beat Nino Valdes first time, actually looks at that point, good enough to get Cooper. Plenty of experience at that point and I think he's confident enough to get in with Enery. Funny thing is, I see this fight as maybe opposite to the Rocky - Moore ft, with Moore getting hurt early, maybe knocked down? Then Archie been the one to clobber his man and stop him. And Henry's skin never splits once!!
