Sugar Ray Leanord and Thomas Hearns are Euro-level talents, Floyd tends to avoid such challenges. So, to answer your question, yes.

For all of the idiots, the only persons people can actually say Floyd avoided was Margarito and Williams. Everyone else had been challenge and turned down the challenge and that includes Pacquiao. After giving in to all of Pac's demand when asked to submit to drug testing Pac ran. Now still he says he submits but want conditions, Pac and Arum realize now the mistake they made and it to late for him to make demands. Floyd has proved his earning power and he has more than Pac, now it Pac who has to submit.

I don't believe Floyd Mayweather would ever have fought a prime Sugar Ray Leonard or Tommy Hearns. It's very unlikely he would have fought Duran as Leonard did. Pac is the only future ATG in his prime Floyd has had a chance to fight and it seems he is doing everything in his power to make sure the fight doesn't happen. Hate to say that about one of the top 2 fighters today, but I can only go by what I see.

He could still have fought in the same division as them, but he would not have fought them. He did avoid fights with the best at 147 for years, when it was the hottest division in boxing.

I can't see him taking a high risk fight like Benitez either.

He'd fight them both. Mayweather's movation is money and they would bring him more money than anyone else could.
Unlike a certain other 147 Lbs boxer he would fight them at 147.

MOney would fight the best at 147, whoever brings the dough. Hearns and Leonard would beat him but he'd handle Benitez without a problem.

Mayweather would always go after the biggest money fights, he chased Delahoya all the way to 154 to do just that

Mayweather would only go after Sugar Ray and The Hitman once they had met FMJ's minimum age requirements, which these days is an average of roughly 37 yeas old. But in the case of these two greats, they would probably have to be around 40, before Mayweather made his move.
