Would Floyd be a 140lb today

Let's be fair here; if Leonard and Hearns had come up as pro's at the same time as Floyd Mayweather jr., they would have never fought at the same weight as Floyd. The stage of their careers at which they were fighting at 147, was the stage at which Floyd was fighgting at 130. When they were at the point in their careers at which Floyd is now, they were fighting MW's, SMW's and even LHW's. Same thing goes for Ray Robinson.

If I remember it right, not so sure of that rumor that Floyd was offered $8M or so to fight Margarito, which would have been his biggest payday at the time, but did not take it. Any take on that...

I would say, he would have stayed at 140 with both SRL and Hearns at 147.

 

Ok fair enough. Well if that's the hypothesis i guess you may be right. I think he would have fought them somewhere down the line, though. After all, he wouldn't have been able to make 140 forever.

 

would David Haye had moved up to heavyweight if tyson, lennox, holyfield (prime) were there and started running his mouth about them. imagine the presser if haye tried to take the **** and tyson started biting him.

 

i believe he fought Baldo for the same amount and the legit WW tittle.

Also ARUM wanted to have some form of rights to Floyds next couple fights i guess co-promotions....you know the drama between them two.

Not saying Margo wasnt a good fight if he took it but clearly the better decision was Baldo no?

 

If FMJ lived in the 80's era and in 147 as well. He'll be ranked 7th to 11th of 147, with atleast 2 losses over 35 fights. That's how deep that era is in comparison to the current.

He wanted to fight De La Hoya later that year but DLH wanted to put it back to the middle of the following year, so he tried to make a fight with Mosley (which was where the whole toothache scenario came from) so went for Baldomir instead, since he caught a lot of grief from people claiming he should have fought him instead of Judah, that and he see's the WBC title as the real one.

 

I wouldn't blame him for ducking them. They would both murder the **** out of him.
