Would Floyd beating cotto or canelo for the wbc middleweight title be significant?

looks good on paper, but once you dissect those fights it'll do absolutely nothing for his legacy

Becoming lineal middleweight champ would be impressive, especially if it's NOT a catch weight fight. That being said, we all know who the man is at middleweight and it is not Cotto or Canelo.

It would be a nice win but not especially significant under the circumstances. Canelo just doesn't have the right style to beat Floyd and he's not adaptable enough to change that. Cotto would be competitive again but probably wouldn't have enough to make the fight more than that. As others have stated, beating GGG would be the fight of significance for Floyd at Middleweight but we all know Floyd isn't going there.

Cotto or Canelo even at 160 does absolutely nothing for legacy.

GGG currently even less,if that's even possible.

GGG right now is about same level with Berto.actually Berto could beat GGG

cotto won the belt against a shot martinez with leg injuries lol. that 160 belt holds no weight, plus floyd already beat cotto and canelo.

Truth hurts.Berto is fighting against TBE,meanwhile GGG is busy with a Canadian taxi driver.

Berto is too fast for GGG

    I can also beat Wlad.

Talk is cheap.GGG can beat shot D levels Murray,Rubio and Macklin of worlds

And when Canelo-GGG happens don't he suprised if Canelo runs over your hero.

Canelo held his own in sparring against GGG when he was literally kid and didn't know anything from boxing.there are levels.Canelo will stop the ridiculous GGG train, once and all

I don't see why it wouldn't both Cotto and Canelo are proven elite fighters one being a legit HOFer the other has the looks of being a HOFer.

I know people are caught up in the GGG hype, time will tell where he ultimately ends up, but right now in 2015 a win over GGG isn't better than a win over Cotto or Alvarez.

I personally wouldn't mind either fight though one brings a Lineal MW Title vs the Real Champ, the other brings a unified title potentially vs the "People's" Champ.

looks good on paper but he's beaten both before. Pretty handily at that.
