    Obviously not.

Loses to Hearns x2, Duran x3, Hagler, Benitez, Norris.

No. Even without those two wrecking machines,Hearns and Hagler, it would be a tough task

No. He certainly loses to The Hitman in '81 and the Duran of Montreal. I would also make Floyd an underdog against Wilfred Benitez.

It's certainly not impossible. Of the bunch, I would give Hagler the best chance of beating Floyd, but if it was the older, afraid to let his hands go version that Leonard fought, I'd still give Floyd a solid chance.
I don't give emaciated, spindly legged 147 Hearns any type of favoritism over Floyd. Hearns seemed far more vulnerable at lower weights, and couldn't put away the smaller, half blind Leonard despite being in complete control.

It's not fair to put Floyd in there with the Donny LaLondes of the world, since he never fought at 175...
And to that note, I certainly think a 175 Hearns would beat Floyd, but not at 147

    I very much doubt it.

Hearns was never in complete control vs Leonard as a matter of fact Leonard staggered him pretty good then Hearns started to box.
Hearns also ended Rays career as he damaged his eye with his punches.
His best weight to me was jr.middleweight where he was incredible and no Mayweather has no chance at beating Hearns at jr.middle.
Nobody ever put a Leonard away while Leonard was in his prime because Ray was very tough and had a ton of heart which gets overlooked.
Hell Norris could not finish a past his prime Leonard and Norris was basically in his prime.
Mayweather is simply too small for Hearns at any weight really and if Mayweather was to try to sit back and box Hearns jab would pick Mayweather apart.
Who has Mayweather fought that is CLOSE to say a fighter like Hearns?

What guys with the type of mobility and timing that May has did Hearns ever "sit back and pick apart"?
Not asking to be snarky, just want to know what the basis of the argument is.
Leonard was much smaller than Hearns, pretty comparable to Mayweathers size, and he TKOd Hearns.

I will concede that at the higher weights of 160 and 175 Hearns would clearly be too much, but at 147 Hearns would be fair game.
He looked like a starved Ethiopian and his spindly legs betrayed him in the Leonard fight.
Mayweather by comparison was pretty solidly built at 147.
And he did at least show at lightweight that tall rangy guys who could box and could bang weren't no thing for him.

How about Wifredo Benitez when Hearns BROKE/Damaged his righthand early what happened? Jabbed Benitez's head off.
How about when Leonard stunned him in the first fight what did Hearns do? Got on his bicycle and jabbed Leonard pretty good and was winning before Ray came on late in the fight. 12 round fight Hearns BEATS Leonard the first time.

Leonard was a million times the harder hitter at welterweight if you compare him to Mayweather- you act like Mayweather is so strong at welter when he was not. Who did Mayweather knockout at welterweight with one shot? Victor Ortiz?

Shane was well past his prime and what did he do vs Mayweather? He rocked him badly in the first round with a righthand.
Hearns lands his righthand like that guess what happens?

Now answer the question: What welterweight did Mayweather face that was close to a Hearns?

None, there's no guys at welter you could compare to Hearns due to his height, except may be Maurice Blocker .
But Floyd DID dominate a guy like that at Welter, so we've at least seen him in there with someone that's at least somewhat compatible in physical stature and power, and who was an above average boxer at least.

Who have we seen Hearns in there with that could compare to a Mayweather?
And sorry, not seeing the Benitez comparisons at all

Benitez was known for his defense yet Hearns landed on him- Paul Williams,Milton MCcroy,Mark Breland,Tommy Ayers were all tall Welters.
