Floyd and Manny were not going to make in 2009 what they made in 2015. If that type of money was put up (150+ million), the fight happens. There's no chance in hell with Floyd and Manny's career highs being 20-30 million (at the time) that fight doesn't happen.
If I'm not mistaken, there was no original cutoff. Floyd brought up the cutoff because Manny didn't want to do blood testing all the way up to the fight. Then Floyd brought up a 14 day cutoff. Manny wanted 21 days. They couldn't agree then Manny fought Clottey and Floyd fought Mosley.
It's crazy how many people judge the guy who wanted a clean fight and not the guy who wanted to fight dirty. Floyd wouldn't been subjected to the same tests as manny, it would've been a completely even playing field. Manny didn't want those tests because he was juiced up and knocking everybody out. Floyd was willing to fight a clean Manny, and we see who won when it finally happened.
Ya and you have literally zero proof of this. Floyd ran his mouth like you and was sued for defamation AND had to pay Manny money lmfao
IIRC Floyd wanted full OSDT, Manny needed a cutoff of 30 days, Floyd compromised 14 days, Manny demanded 24 days. Fight was off.
Nah....Floyd retired waiting for certain Welters to lose their 0's. Then come back in fighting Marquez who moved up two divisions to fight. Floyd still missed weight......just let that sink in.
I just want someone to tell me why Manny would refuse drug testing for the biggest fight of his life. If he beats Floyd in '09 he goes down as top 5 p4p and defeats his biggest rival. It's pretty obvious he was cheating.
Depends on if the guy with the tattoos decides to play the scared of needles card with Saudi money on the table. The fan hypocrisy with Manny has always been mind blowing to me.
Was it a coincidence that Floyd was open to negotiations after Manny took back to back losses to Bradley and Maquez? I've heard it from both sides. Manny Fans and Floyd Fans.......... Let's stop with the reaching...... It's only a coincidence to those who try to make it seem like Maidana's showing had anything to do with Manny/Floyd.....but it doesn't. That fight happened because Floyd understood the type of $$ he could generate with the fight occurring when it did. Manny wasn't as much of a threat as he once was when he and Floyd were consistently competing for fighter of the year. But it was still a fight that fans wanted regardless of how long it took for it to happen. Personally, I was disappointed with the actual bout, but that's a whole other conversation.
