So Shane became weaker over the last 2 years? It is commonly said that the last thing a fighter will lose is his power, so I doubt that's accurate. Or are you suggesting that 2 years ago Mosley would somehow found a way to land another shot? 2 years ago Mosley was life and death with Ricardo Mayorga but somehow this younger version of Mosley would have fought different and been able to finish Floyd? 2 years ago the same thing would have happened... actually he might have been dominated worse without Nazim in his corner.

I said "like" that, not exactly. Besides, the basic result is the same. After Cotto took that shot, even though he managed to get back up, the fight was over.

You can never ever, be so sure. Everybody...! every boxer, gets caught with big shots in their career.

No matter who they are, no matter how good your defense is..!!!

Floyd Mayweather will be hit, when he faces Manny Pac....i'm sure about that.

Its how he reacts to the bombs, that will be interesting.

If Floyd gets hit by that in the same spot he's done, even if he makes it to his feet the ref would either wave it off or he'd be so out of it that Manny would finish him off.

No man at 147 is surving power and speed like that if it gets them in the right spot.

As soon as that shot lands the fights over. :hi:

Overlooked fact of the day: that was at 140 and Pacquiao doesn't punch as hard at 147..

It is a near perfect punch though. Pac actually takes a left hand to land his bomb.

He would go down for sure if he walked into it and didn't see it coming.

Whether or not Mayweather would survive that punch is really irrelevant. The real point is, that Pacquiao landed that sort of punch ONCE in his entire career. Mayweather has been on the brink of hitting the canvas ONCE in his entire career. If I'm in Pacquiao's corner, I don't like those odds.

exactly... :good And Floyd Mayweather is human, and for sure he will get hit...Everybody does!! Maybe he wont get caught flush like Hatton did.
But thats one of the biggest issue of the fight, how often will floyd get hit and how will he respond to Paquiao´s attack with his defence... will he be able to counter...Ect.ect..ect... Weird thread by the way:huh

SHHHH, don't post such a logical comment bro...It's not very appreciated here in ESB

I agree with you and to add to your post, no matter what era or when this fight took place, Mosley wasn't/isn't knocking out Mayweather. People like to say Mosley stopped punching but Mayweather is the reason for it, he wrapped up Mosley and hanged on till he got his legs back. Textbook defense, unlike Margarito who absorbed all Mosley's punches with his face....

    Good post lefty.

I laugh at some of these posts 'Shane hit him harder' etc, the ignorance astounds me.

I remember this. Instead of jumping for joy, I was actually worried for Hatton.

It's kinda unlikely PBF would be caught in a shot like that. But then again, it's possible.
