Would Frazier Bring Down Iron Chinned Vitali?

I’ve been backing him up on this thread because it’s obvious that Frazier doesn’t stand a chance

 

Bugner does look better technically than Vitali. But then, that's not difficult because Vits looked like Lurch from the Addams Family had taken up boxing. He looks a mess, most of the time. On the other hand, look at the clip that Dino linked to as though he was proving some kind of point. Vitali fought very well off the backfoot and landed repeatedly while avoiding incoming blows. That's why stylistically Frazier is going to have a devil of a time trying to fight somebody like Vits. His lunging swipes are just going to earn him chopping counterpunches on the schnozz.

 

Fair enough. Ridiculous that I who share the same view as you on the thread topic had to address this because the two people debating you were to cowardly to do so themselves.

 

As I've previously stated, Wladimir and Vitali both have styles suited for longevity so while it was impressive, it was nothing extraordinary.

 

My point being that if you criticize Old Vitali's performance against Briggs, it might be worth looking at Old Frazier too

 

That's what Frazier did though.
His swarming style is best suited against fighters like that. Fighting off the backfoot doesn't work well against an elite level swarmer.
Vitali's other option would be to press forward but he doesn't have the snap or brute power to do what Foreman did, so he'd be in a torrid war with Frazier either way.

 

If this fight ever actually happened, you'd be bitching about Vitali picking on guys his own size by the end of it, which wouldn't be very long.

Again you missed my point. Frazier was shot at 32 years old, while Ali regained his title at 32 and looked better than ever. You know why that is? Because Ali had a style better suited for longevity than Frazier so just because Ali performed better later in his career than Frazier means little in a H2H discussion. Same with Vitali. This is the last time I'm going to try to explain it to you.

Also as I stated Vitali and Briggs were the same age. Cummings was 6 years Frazier's junior with a LOT less wear and tear.

 

I think Vitali wins and it looks like most of the other posters agree. I have no idea why your getting your feelings hurt

 

My feelings are not hurt. I have no problem with anyone who thinks Vitali wins but at least put up a real impartial argument that doesn't involve misleading facts, and ignore valid criticisms to your argument.

Vitali and Frazier were different eras so could never actually fight but their records speak for themselves. It's clear as day that Frazier is a level or two greater than Vitali.

You don't think much of my arguments because I'm not leaning in one direction like you and some other posters. I think either Frazier, or Vitali could win, and have seen great arguments on both sides in this thread. I've also seen terrible, intentionally misleading, and laughably biased arguments from you, BCS8, Magoo, among others.

 

Some folk will pick any EE fighter to beat any fighter from history. You can't change their minds, they're stuck in their ways. No matter how illogical. "GGG would beat Toney", "Vitali would beat Frazier", "Wlad would beat Foreman", "Kovalev would beat Spinks", etc.
