No one said anything about accepting literally anything a fighter says. And you do have an agenda. You push back against 70's HWs as if they stole something from you. It's obvious to anyone with an IQ over 50. The thread could have nothing to do with them and you'll bring up Foreman or Ali out of nowhere. It's happened more times than I can count.
Shavers was shockingly sloppy after the Holmes knockdown. There were other fights where he was more patient going for the kill timing his shots, but I guess he was so excited about potentially stealing the championship he threw caution and technique out the window. It's funny because it was Shavers' timing, technique, and proper leverage that produced the knockdown in the first place. He had been practicing that shot in sparring and his intention from the beginning was to time Holmes jab. It worked, but then he blew all that hard work by not continuing to do what had been working up until that point. Classic puncher mistake.
He did, but his right hand was the only real crazy lights-out punch he had. His left hook and uppercut were just hard, not really earth-shattering.
Frazier would beat the merde out of Shavers and it wouldn’t take him long. Shavers was no jabroni but he gets points here because of this forum’s love for the mystique, the romance, the entertainment value or whatever you want to call it of big punchers. (The exception of course being the unexplained place Jimmy Young has on so many people’s pedestals LOL.)
I don’t care what you count, hey now I also big up my Uncle Jimmy all the time what’re you talking about? - Ali is my number 2 HW and I regularly say he was approaching the finish line when he beat the brakes of the 70s, man was diminishing before the early mid 70s, first tier of his Parkinson’s IMO. It’s not an agenda it’s an opinion lmao - HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! Go have a hotdog and enjoy your beautiful country.
