Would Garcia pose a problem for Floyd?

I like to watch Garica fight but I don't think he stand much of a chance against Floyd.

Who knows. He's undefeated and has caused problems for everyone he has faced and knocked down his last 3 opponents.

 

I think it's time everybody just accepts that a larger stronger power puncher (within his own weight range, obviously not including middleweights) looking to get physical and smash him up isn't the answer to beat PBF. The last one in that mold to come close was Castillo, and he failed twice - or went an even split if you are feeling generous or have strong JLC sympathies - and there is no prime Castillo around today.

De La Hoya failed, Ortiz failed hard, Mosley failed but for a fleeting moment, Cotto failed, Guerrero failed hard, and Garcia would fail hard. You can't bully him successfully for an entire 36 minutes...and there really isn't anything else Garcia could try given his abilities.

If there is a blueprint, that isn't it. (and neither is being a southpaw, which myth last weekend hopefully went towards laying to rest)

 

There isnt too many people out there right now who people can really say would trouble Floyd.

Garcia is very high in the queue though for the next fight.

 

Garcia lulls you to sleep then bam he's on your ass, he is deceptively fast like Cotto, that could take Floyd longer to figure out than usual. His footwork and body arsenal may trouble a older Floyd, as of now FMJ smokes him though. Garcia is one fight away he grows by leaps and bounds every fight...........

 

Is there a chance we have been going about this all wrong? Floyds a counter puncher yet we keep clamoring for big guys and volume punchers and more Castillos

this formula keeps failing, Garcia is a good counter puncher with devastating power and great timing, he also handles speed well, he had Judah contained for 8 or 9 rounds and caught Khan after timing him

Garcia has shown us he can deal with hand speed and can counter well vs fast guys

is this everything of course not but its something, what if Garcia forces Floyd to lead and times and counters him with a hard left hook...sounds impossible but id rather see a counter puncher than yet another big slow guy who comes forward eating counters

call me crazy but I preferred a faster and more mobile Devon Alexander to Robert Guerrero

 

I like Garcia and respect his game, but Floyd beats him silly...I'd also lean toward Ghost beating him as well, but that's a toss up.

 

Alexander has the best chance to beat Floyd of any WW going right now, IMO. I agree 100% with you on that, and have said that many times.

I'd still heavily favor Mayweather over Alexander, but stylistically he is going in with a much better chance than anyone looking to swarm and clobber him on the ropes like all these morons keep trying with virtually no success (except for DLH and Cotto sporadically...and please nobody say Ortiz because any success you saw was illusory, he was right where Mayweather wanted him all night and landed next to nothing that wasn't strictly by accident)

 

In the past my example was a prime Cory Spinks who would move and not engage and have a very low out put, people would call me nuts and say you cant out Floyd Floyd

I say why not, if you come full steam at a counter guy your fighting Floyds fight

I would wanna see what would happen if a guy moved and didnt lead at all, how would Floyd get to the guy, would he get frustrated, would he walk into a counter punch

I dont think Devon would win and I dont know if he would even have the patience to do the game plan Ive thought of but I think he has the attributes if nothing else

 

LOL! Hell no! Even Zab made Danny his ***** in the championship rounds, and that's a zab who's known for having stamina issues.
