He would not beat the Klits.. Gerry Cooney was a bit overrated. I hate to say it. Holmes was an A rated fighter. Cooney was about a B rated fighter who people made into B+ or A-.

I think I would put my money on Povetkin.

I don't know about that. A good compelling match and both guys do things the other won't like.

I sure don't like that Povetkin defense. As a matter of fact, it's similar to Gerry's with that elbows in and lean in style. But he is shorter. The thing Povetkin does is walk in with that attack mode and that's a dicey thing to do in the first few rounds with Cooney. He threw that picture perfect left uppercut and a picture perfect lefthook and I sure don't think Povetkin slips that punch. I think if he stays on his feet, he gets busted up. But he weathers a storm better of the 2.

But his combos are also a problem for Cooney. And he starts to the body with those nice body shots and then comes upstairs almost seamless. Very accurate. That's when he's at his best though & sometimes he just does not do that during segments of a round. Strange, but it's like the guy does 9 twenty second increments of a round. When he does the combos, he's really good. I sure don't like his game the other twenty second segments and that is a big opening for a hitter like Cooney.

I think it'd be one of those Monday quarterback fights anyway. The guy that wins, does exactly what he was supposed to do in there. The loser made mistakes. Not so much a back and forth or even fight, but 1 of those tossup type fights where the winner dominates. I could see Povetkin losing the battle and winning the war by digging deep.
