Even if all those had happened But Hagler beat all those guys anyway. So it wouldn't have mattered who did what to who. Hagler maybe gets a little battered around the face against Jake but that won't stop Marvin. Bet Jake's face looks worse!
Jake would be in a huff when an opponent showed up weighing 159 and change rather than 148 1/2 while he sauntered in at 164. LaMotta’s career is built on being a super middleweight fighting welterweights. Rare were the times when he gave up weight at all while he feasted on smaller guys for a living.
I don't think that Hagler himself would prepare for the fight with any notion of it ending early. He weighed 156 for the first Hamsho fight to be able to move and avoid Hamsho; it makes a lot of sense to me that he would approach LaMotta in a similar fashion. I think that betting on a draw would make more sense than betting on the fight to end early.
Possible, but I believe this one goes the limit with Hagler winning by a comfortable margin. Both are tough as nails and this would be a real crowd-pleasing brawl. Hagler's better all-around skills would make the difference.
Get back in your box - you scored Duran winning over Hagler for gods sake. LaMotta would get stopped from cuts before Hagler. The most likely way he would cut Hagler if at all would be through his grubby headbutting and dubious tactics. You've making mountains out of molehills with Hagler's cuts and this is coming from a guy that used to explore similar in here. It's likely a distance fight but there's a small chance Hagler might wear him down late with that consistent methodical rhythm and pressure he brought at his best. LaMotta would be making him stay busy and downright having to fight him off at times. Hagler wasn't the biggest puncher but he hit with consistent power and had a full array of weaponry. Even when boxing he kept quite a bit of pressure on. LaMotta is a great fighter tho and he'd certainly have his moments in a great fight to watch. so i'd go a distance fight with Hagler the winner.
