Maybe but not quite. I think Pacs speed and excellent execution of a fight plan made the fight easier and not anybody can do the same.

Yeah, I think he would have. It wouldn't have been as one sided, but Hatton would have beaten De La Hoya that night in my opinion.

Lee Beard woulda told Hatton to try to bulldoze Oscar w/ his hands down his side & tell him not to move his head. Lee should just stick to karate & leave boxing to the real

OK I'm going to write this in capitals as it contains the answer NO ARGUEMENT.

At the end of the PAC-DLH bout Oscar's corner said:
'There's not point continuing - HE'S JUST TOO FAST!'

The reason why DLH didn't throw any punches was because (like Hatton) he just didn't know how to deal with PAC speed and power. The same with Hatton - as soon as he felt PACs power and speed his gameplan (aka using headmovement, footwork and DEFENSE) went out the window. He tried to bully PAC in the first hold but PAC just bullied him right back. Hatton had NOTHING. Didn't even have the advantage in strength.

Anyway the reason why PAC beat De La Hoya is purely because of SPEED. Hatton doesn't possess anything that would have troubled La Hoya.

ANSWER: GIVE PAC HIS CREDIT FOR BEATING DLH.
