easy peasy. walcott rated ali as the best heavy he ever seen and who should question his opinion. he fought the other greats. a 65 to 67 ali could wipe the floor with anyone. the bigger the fight the better his performance.

 

-Patterson was an offensive force that really didn't evolve into an all around boxer until injuries and age slowed him down in the late 60s and early 70s at the end of his career; was never as crafty as the Cobra.

-Maybe not, but Johnson certainly had remarkable hand speed. Also feel free to contrast Patterson and Charles. Patterson forcing a pressuring bombs away style his body wasn't capable of anymore, continously walking through punishment in vain. Charles mixes up gears with masterful footwork, setting traps for his right hand. I don't see a fair analogy.

Early on in their meeting Floyd actually tried to draw Ali in, looking for a counter. After the first 5-6 it wasn't much more than survival, though. I don't think it's really fair comparing with footage where Floyd is already seriously groggy.
