would have been undefeated jack dempsey in the 80s-90s at cruiserweight?

    well my opinion is yes. dempsey was much more solid and a stronger man at 190 pounds than evander. he was fast, he was harder puncher than tons of hws,he had good chin, great stamina, great defence, he was aggressive like the hell, he was a great finisher. i can´t see anyone beating jack dempsey at cruiser. maybe only marciano(and i am not sure)

    Dempsey would have destroyed any cruiser...even Qawi or Holyfield IMo.

    Interesting question. I favor Jack in the individual match-ups; but do I favor him to win all the cruiser matchups for a period of six years or so (corresponding to 1918-1923)? There I'm not sure. Look at the very tough fights he was given by Miske I & II, and Brennon (near cruiser weight) II. Would Jack have pulled out Brennon II with only twelve rounds to work with?

    Also, would Dempsey, coming in the '80's/90's, have been a cruiser? It's not just a matter of keeping lean vs putting on the muscle; there was a broad trend, from the mid-late 1800's to about 1960, of increasing height in Americans. So it's possible that Jack's basic frame might have been bigger if he'd had come along at that time. Maybe he could have made cruiser limit, maybe not.

    actually dempsey would have chance to beat the version hw of evander, i think that evander at cruiser would not beat jack dempsey, too strong, too savage, too fast, very good defence, brutal hitting power, great stamina, too aggressive, great finisher
